Dear friends,
I need your suggestion.
My current salary is 14000 per month in Ahmedabad I got job offer in Mumbai for 3.25 lacs per anum. Current company ready to give 22000 per month. Which option should I select and which one is best for me.

I can very well understand your dilemma. Moneywise, I don't see much difference in the two offers that you have in hand (Rs. 5000 is actually a lot) considering that living costs in Mumbai are much higher than in Mumbai. The 5000 less that you would be getting in Ahmedabad would be compensated by the saving you could make in Ahmedabad. Also if you have already established yourself well in A'bad, you would have to start from scratch again in Mumbai.
But there are other factors to be considered. If the company in Mumbai is offering you better future growth prospects and better opportunities to grow and learn as a professional then Go for it. Similarly, try to work out the pros and cons of staying back in A'bad and mving to Mumbai.
My suggestion is write down on a piece of paper positives and negatives of both the possibilities and I am sure you will find a solution. :) :) :)
All the best to you!!

@Kalyani, you have given a very simplified solution in a smooth way. Good thinking!!
Yes, Santosh, I would also like to add that if you are living in Ahemadabad means if it is your native place then better be there and not join Mumbai
To join in Mumbai, leaving your family is the case only when you can see your career growth with the organisation of Mumbai

santosh all has suggest what is a good way..I think you already had research about that mumbai company before taking the offer..if not just know the background of company so that u can know whether people like you who have already joined in the company are well treated and are given growth prospects..I know its difficult but it is needed as regretting after losing a change can be very painful..
In genral Mumbai is very expensive place and small apartments are itself expensive...family and you should adjust..however you have still think twice before joining..If you dont have any problem please give me details about your field and the company you got oppurtunity.

Hey Santosh.. It is some what difficult decision dude.
Sorry... missed this thread....
Let me ask you one question.....
Company at Ahmadabad is willing to give you 22,00PM ....
1. Have you revealed to them about the fact that you want to quit??
2. And is your manager friendly with you???
If the answers for the questions are as below, I would suggest you to stay back... :)
1. NO.
2. YES.
If you would leave for Mumbai, we would also miss a very good member too... :(

Being from Mumbai I would like add only one thing that is cost of living here. It is obviously much higher than in ahmedabad. Also one added cost will be rental accomodation which is very expensive. So for a increment of just 5000 to shift to mumbai is not a wise decision. Instead I think you can save a lot right now in ahmedabad. In short the sacrifice ratio is very high if you shift to Mumbai in the given situation.
@Santosh, in this case, forget about the salary part and concentrate on growth and learning opportunities! Ask yourself which of the two is going to give you more of that? You could possibly consider onsite exposure too!! Which of the two companies is going to give you that kind of learning experience?
More importantly, WHAT is it that you are looking for? Salary or learning experience!!
The one company which has all of this is the best one for you!!

@Santosh,
Iam very late to reply this thread.
1.The salary you have mentioned is take home salary or gross salary? If it is gross, then compare the take home salary also.Because some companies will offer attractive packages but most of it may come by the end of the year or performance based etc.
2. Note down the approximate expenses in both these places and check which is best.
3. Whichever you choose, please move with your family as it will reduce the expenses and also makes you happy staying with your family.

hi friend,
if you comfortable with the current job stay here itself,if the new one is innovating and if you feel there is any growth facility ,if you move to new place, you have to leave your family and friends also, think once again before leaving the present job, wish you all the best
