A Bihar court on Saturday summoned Congress President Sonia Gandhi to appear before it on July 29 in connection with a complaint alleging that her depiction in posters in Uttar Pradesh in 2007 as Goddess Durga was an "insult to Hindu religion".

Additional District and Sessions Judge (Muzaffarpur) A K Srivastava ordered issue of the summon after hearing the complainant and senior advocate Sudhir Kumar Ojha.

The judge asked Gandhi to appear either in person or through her lawyer in the court to explain her position.

This is a good gesture of the court hope justice is kept above every thing in this country for its structured development.
I don't think Sonia will be in trouble. It can be easily established that the ad was not designed by her, but by some body in pradesh congress or some ad agency, and she can argue that she did not saw it before publishing.
The allegation against Sonia Gandhi is an exposure of pseudo secularism of Congress. Depicting someone as God or Goddess is an act of blasphemy. This definitely hurts genuine religious sentiments. This is only to befool the totally blind followers of Gandhi family.
eaving aside the issue i guess the complainant in this case should be brought on national television to tell all the self righteous iliterate goons present in the society that there are other ways to solve the problem rather than vandalising and beating.perid.

hats off to the complainant who even in this era of lakhs of goon organisations present went on the right path to solve the issue.
