Ahead of the Commonwealth Games in Delhi, a new study has ranked the national capital fifth among 20 cities of the world where traffic has gone worse in the past few years, adversely affecting people's heath and productivity.

New Delhi, which will receive thousands of athletes and foreign tourists during the mega sporting event, scored 81 out of 100 in IBM's 'Commuter Pain Study', reflecting its failure to keep the transportation infrastructure at pace with economic activity.

Particularly one aspect always disgusted me when I was in New Delhi that was the unusual rudeness on the part of the bus conductors.
traffic system is the one of the vital role in development of a nation.. it should be treated with sudden care..
Thanks for providing the link. Yes traffic system is worst in main cities of india..New delhi is one such place...Hyderbad can also be listed as the traffic is uncontrolable there.
construction of more fly overs, underpass , bridge etc. are the best way to reduce traffic problems...
It's becasue of abnormal pressure on existing infrastructure and development of satellite townships should receive serious consideration.
widening of roads and constructing new roads will have several issue... best way is to built fly overs etc...
Kolkata is one such city which has got just 6% of total space for roads and pathways.Flyovers and underpasses have been tried out with limited success.
