Surprisingly, the illiterate small boys living near Taj Mahal speak fluently in French, Russian, Arabic and South Indian languages. They easily recognize the nationality of visitors and speak in their languages. Thus they successfully work as agents of local crafts shops, restaurants and hotels. The boys earn around Rs. 200-300 per day.

This is quite good news!! Just goes on to show how quickly a child can learn by mere interaction. :)
Not only education, experience is also a good teacher. This has been proved by this small boy :)
I think this has been also shown in a movie named Chote Jaisalmer.
May be the regular interactions with the nationals of these countries have helped him to acquire this extraordinary skill.
Yes Deepti- This is relevant in the context of our group discussion on relevance of education in getting success. These boys can speak different languages but they cannot write any. Moreover, they can talk about only things relevant to tourists like buying handicraft, selecting hotel, restaurant and visiting tourist places.
I think it is also part of an educative process- may be not formal but effective all the same.
Chinmoy- You are right. Life itself is open and real book. The books are nothing but experience of life expressed in words. While the life itself is direct experience of our own, the books impart to us experience of others.
A very good information shared by Glushan and this shows interaction with other nation people helps a lot to develop our communication skills.
Yes Gulshan, you are bang on ! Life is a great teacher and we live to learn till the very last moment!
I had saw this boy on the news channel..he was saying that he learn becuase of his ecperiences with the tourist..he is guide ...will listening to the tourisst languages he automatically started learning those languages.
