Good Morning to all my friends!

Thanks Srivedi for reminding us that today is World Environment Day.When all we are witnessing the effects of environmental degradation all around, there is no escape from the fact that by just celebrating on a particular day we can save ourselves. It has to be a systematic and serious approach throughout the year.We can do so many things- like planting saplings in our neighbourhood, eschewing from using non-biodegradable products in our daily life etc.
Yes Chinmoyi, the first thing is that consumption of plastic bags need to be surpressed voluntarily.

Today.I was impressed that today the newspaper 'Times of India' was made with recycled paper.. At least the bangalore edition..
We must save energy, fuel and water. We need use less paper for saving trees. We can do so by economic use and preferring public transport to private transport. For small distances, we may use bicycles or walk instead of using motor transport.
Good Morning Friends.
Thanks Sridevi for reminding about the Environment day.We can avoid buying hardcopy of newspapers. Instead we can read the news from their websites.
We have one of the oldest English language newspaper in Kolkata which has switched over to recyling used newsprints some years back.
When selling any old newspapers also, we can keep the pamphlets that come along with the papers, and a few other unnecessay papers in between the newspapers and sell. so that all of them get recycled.
Five films based on environment have been released today..For more information please follow the thread link..

Filmi News....
Thanks everyone for their opinions. Hope everyone try to save the environment.
Thanks Sridevi for starting this thread!!
We all should do our bit for saving environment and making a difference! I have given up using plastic bags and use cloth bags instead!! :)
It's a matter of satisfaction that this year I find lots of people in our locality participating in a big way to celebrate World Environment day.As I pointed out earlier that it has to be a long sustained effort on the part of all.
The prestigious newspaper The Hindu's "The Hindu Green Reader initiative" has decided to plant one sapling for every copy printed on June 5, the Environment Day.

Well Done "The Hindu"!
