I think each city has it own distinctivenes for its people.In India we have so many cities with people with different life styles and all that.Do share your thoughts.

Say city Mumabai is known for its night life and Kolkata for its cultural vibrancy,the city of Varanasi for it religous fervour etc.

Vijayawada is for Education center..
That's it,Rakesh.When it has become so,it must be the people who have made it a reputed education centre.
Coimbatore is very distinct from other cities. It is known for its pleasant weather and education..

I understand you are from the Nawbabs's City Lucknow.How about a few lines about the people of Lucknow?
I am at Agra- the city of Taj- monument of love. Agra has also shoe industry. Now Agra is hosting many medical conferences- national and internatioal. Agra is also known as Sulahkul- that is the city of communal harmony. even when nearby places face communal tension and quarels, agra is peaceful.
@ Visakhapatnam..is known as city of destiny, port city and the beaches. it is tourist destination .The city has industries and is well known for steel plant..as is called steel city... B) MAny things to state..thanks for giving me oppuntunity to discuss about the city.

Very good to know the characteristics of so many cities and hope description of many more would come.

Kozhikode ( Calicut) is famous for its trade of wood especially teak wood.
Calicut is well known for trade and commerce from ancient times.If memory serves me right Vasco da Gama landed here first time in India.
Yes .The first foreigner who came to India reached Calicut and it was for trade.
Delhi - A transition through time !! As you walk along the narrow by-lanes of this city of dreams, tread softly. Every crumbling wall has a story to tell. Every yesterday is replete with history. Rulers have come and gone. The city has lived through wars and resurrection, repeatedly rising from the ashes.
HYDERABAD --- City of pearls and city of Nizams :)
