There are many intellectuals and politicians who differentiate between external terrorists and Maoists. Novelist Maha Shweta Devi, congress leader Digvijay Singh, Mamata Banerjee and some others want to adopt a softer policy for Maoists. Their plea is that Maoists are our own people.
Then the question arises whether victims of Maoist terror including police men are not our own people. why should there be any soft corner for those who defy the Indian constitution, revolt against the lawful government and kill innocent people and adversaries by taking law in own hands.

More than external terrorists, it is harder to recognize the internal terrorists and since they are more knowledgeable about the workings of our system, they cause more damage...I think in the recent few days, the number of people especially the security personnel slaughtered at the hands of Maoists has been much more than those killed during Mumbai attack.
external or internal terrorists, the policy should be the same for all those who kill!!!

Abid- I agree that man is born innocent. As a matter of fact, everyone is a blank paper sheet on birth. The family and social inputs interact on him and he may turn hero or villain.
But here the question is whether Maoists are any way different from other terrorists. They are also killing innocent people and aim to overthrow the government by terrorists acts. So, why are they treated as different than terrorists.
