Organic farming policy announced in Kerala

It is a great and eco friendly move by CM of Kerala.

International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements (IFOAM), defines the overarching goal of organic farming as follows:

"Organic agriculture is a production system that sustains the health of soils, ecosystems and people. It relies on ecological processes, biodiversity and cycles adapted to local conditions, rather than the use of inputs with adverse effects. Organic agriculture combines tradition, innovation and science to benefit the shared environment and promote fair relationships and a good quality of life for all involved.."

That's a very good initiative taken by the Kerala CM. Other states can follow this.

This is really a welcome measure in benefit of people. Kerala government and ruling party has done a creditable job.

Very good policy looking at the dangers of chemical farming on the health of consumers.

I think if all governments had a mind like this to save their people our India may become healthier.

These days when a controversy has been raging over the GM issue the stand taken by the government of Kerla is very significant.

A very good move taken by the Kerala govt.! By using fertilizers and pesticides, we have already depleted the soils of precious minerals and nitrates!. should be seriously considered by other states as well!

Eco-farming is the latest buzz-word and we have to face the truth that current farming practices are not at all eco-friendly and in fact straining our fragile eco-system.
