Yes. The use of internet is making children mature before they are ripe. This needs to be checked by parents and schools.
If today children mature early then they will go to old age early so its dangerous for him.
Yes, along with the use of internet, access to a lot of information via other mediums such as television, cinema, magazines etc is making children more mature. Also, more worrisome about it is that the children are not only becoming mature emotionally, but their bodies too are maturing early!!
I want to add one very vital point ..

Other reason is their class syllabus .. Sometime I wonder after seeing my sons books..whatever I learned in class 7 or 8 he is learning in 2nd standard.

I think it is due to information blast..now we have too too much information about all the sphere of life.. so they are force to study so many things right from beginning which makes them mature..
I do not know how they able to cover his course very fast. I think today children mind much more faster than old one.
In size and shape they are getting early maturity . But in action they are late matured.
@ABID

Not understood fully.. Can you elaborate your point ??
We have made them smarter but robbed them of their precious childhood!
No Abid this time children growing fast in all way. I think its technology and family effect.
Its due to the advancement in technology and their increased exposure to it. During my childhood I only used to dream having a cellphone which I used to see on TV serial startreck. Today every school going child has one in his bag.
Yes. They are maturing fast in these days. Technology brought this change.
I am not sure whether 'maturity' is the right word for it.I agree they are a lot more smart these days!!
Unfortunately, the children are also victims of old age diseases like hyper tension and dieabetes. They are over burden with books, sent to school early- even if Kids play groups and engaged in video and computer games.

The children are thus deprived of childhood innocence and natural happiness. The children should not be sent to school till five years age and not burdened with heavy syylabus from the bveginning. They should be encouraged to play outdoor games and the computer/ video games restricted to children above 12 years.
I think most of the parents are very keen to see their wards growing up early overlooking the fact that a healthy and enjoyable childhood acts as a cushion against the harder realities that they face in the later years.

That's so perfectly true!! without thinking of the consequences, undue pressure is being put on children to learn as many things as possible and are made to take part in many many competitions and on top of all that, the children are expected to be always in the merit list at school!!

this is only increasing various emotional problems in children!
What I find very interesting is the emotional invelovement of the parents in the performance of their wards. The first and foremost duty of any parents is to ensure a stress free living for their children.
Truly said Chinmoy!!
Now Parents' utmost priority is to make their children the best in everything. In that way they are snatching childhood from the child. Now-a-days children are spending very less time for playing outdoor games.
Todays children not taking interest in outdoor games. They are more enjoying on video games.
If they are puting wards to cricket even before they learn how to handle a cricket bat,the thoughtt of seeing them becoming a Tendulkar or Gangully is there!!!!
I think there may be one reason that children want to get everything early so they so his maturity more.
