UNO's initiative for eradicating castes

I think our politicians HAVE TO CHANGE THERE MIND SET THEN ONLY WE WILL BE ABLE TO stop the cast problem in our country

I don't think this will be implemented in India. If they implement, the opposition will celebrate this Diwali with 100 tons of crackers ;)

It's OK that we need to get rid of the caste based evil practices in India. But, I don't think we have to invite and involve the external forces to eradicate this. Under the coverage of UNO many vested interest anti Indian external parties may interfere in our society and create a fuss with the active involvement of biased sold out media traders.
Alternatively our govt can ban using the caste in all official documents and welfare programs. Caste based politics and reservations need to be abolished.
All welfare programs need to be based on economic background of the people.
When there is will, there is a way. If our politicians and people wanted to eradicate the caste based evil practices, we can do it on our own way independently, without involving any external parties.
This is how, we have done a mistake long back by allowing foriegners for free trade without any restrictions. They slowly interfered in our system, social order then invaded and ruled upon us until we get freedom in 1947.
Each and every country and their soceities in the world got divided into many groups mainly as Intellectuals, Traders, Administrators, General work force etc. They all compete and fight with each other for their survival. They too have their own favourable political and administrative groups.

Thanks for the responses.

We in India have been practicing these casts since time immemorial. we always blamed Brahmans for creating casts. Nevertheless, in reality the real discoverers of casts were the village heads who governed masses through force and the power of the panchayats (village courts).

It is so very disgraceful for us Indians that we have a cast for every profession. You introduce a profession and the village heads will declare a cast on the same name.

We have not eradicated castes for last thousands of years now we should listen to the world community and mend our ways.

we should be sensitive to all types of discrimination- caste, color, race or gender. We should not conceal our own disease. So U.N. initiative in eradicating castism is welcome.
Please correct spelling. 'Casts' should be changed to 'castes'. Casts- coveys different meaning.

India needs more education because with out education no body is going to accept any kind of change.

*casting = Making of a solid object by pouring molten metal, glass, or plastic into a mold and allowing it to cool

We Indians will have to get united by removing caste discrimination.
