Lady Bishop- Church of England

Another bastion of male dominance has fallen to the ground,Great news!

Oh! really,
its wonderful news and also a great change occurred. Great, she is the first Bishop in the world.

Its a very positive sign as Church of Engalnd is quite orthodox in these matters, appointing a lady Bishop is indeed a sign of significant changes.

Women are entering every field of life with great success.Hope this trend continues!

Can we ever hope to get a lady Shankaracharya. There are four 'Peeth'. One may be a lady incumbent.

@Gulshan, I guess that would be only wishful thinking.....religions and matters related to religious institutions are still male-dominated in India. But hopefully that will soon change.

I have seen many temples with ladies offering prayers instead of male priests.... May be the same phenomena here... :)

I do agree with Deepti.It is not always logical to view the progress from the narrow perspective of male dominance.
