Hello friends,

It seems we all are little bored with the word game. So now it is turn for some mathematics game. I will write a series of numbers and leave one blank space anywhere in the sequence. You have to find the correct one and should tell the calculation for that.

For example:

1,4,7,10,---,16

Missing number is 13.
Calculation : 3 is added to every number.

Find out the next number in the sequence. Also write the formula used to find the number.

Next number in the sequence=849

2*2+1=5
16*2+1=33
70*2+1=141
424*2+1=849


2,5,16,33,70,141,424,849...

Sorry. Your answer is wrong. You have missed calculation for the numbers 16,70,424. As per your formula next number after 5 is 5*2+1 = 11 which is not the number here. Please try again !!!

The formula i have used for the sequence is for all the numbers and not for alternates.

It is good to see that you have found a different formula for alternate numbers. That's is the beauty of mathematics :)
