Bajaj's car being manufactured jointly with Renault and Nissan promises to give hot chase to the Tata Nano.

The Bajaj car will be cheaper than the Nano, which comes at Rs 1.23 - 1.72 lakhs.

After the launch of Tata Nano, the race for the No.2 position in the ultra-low cost car segment is under way in India , which as emerged as the Mecca of this segment. However, other automakers' plans to enter this segment are still on the drawing board.

So I may wait for that one now!!!
Ha ha haa...This is like mobile provider's offers.
Ya they were having the plan. This competition is only going to benefit the consumers.
That's really good. When it is going to reach the market? Hope there will be more queue for this like nano?
I think instead of going to buy cheap car we buy maruti 800 that is best. Cheap car means its waste of our money. Performance is not good as our expectation.
yes i think Santosh Sir you are right

cheap car means wastage of money because performance is not good enough..
Marut- 800 is no longer being registered by RTO authorities as the pollution control standards are not complied with.
If it really happens, we would find no 2 wheelers on roads...
deepti- I feel that public transport should be more efficient and popularized whereas personal transport be discouraged.
However, small car plan of bajaj is welcome. We need to cut costs by economizing use of raw material, inputs, fuel and space. So small cars are better than big cars.
It is that, Bajaj’s small car will instead carve out its identity as the most "Fuel-efficient car" instead of the cheapest.
:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
Bajaj's Car is looking better than Nano!! I hope it would not have negatives as Tata's Nano.. :)

Thanks Deeepti for this News!! :cheer:
The small car segment has huge potential in India. But I am not sure how safe these small cars would be in Indian conditions.
This is a great news. Even the prices of cars are coming down day by day.
I think these cars would be used more as taxis than private family cars.
No Jayen ---- These would definitely fulfill the dreams of the middle class people. Can be used for personal purpose.
:)
Ya Deepti I agree with you but it's use as taxis will out number it's use as private car for sure.
Buying more cars by middle class families will create more problems of crowing on roads and parking problems. The government should discourage private convenience and promote public transport.
