Red light is a signal for traffic to stop. There is no other purpose.
Red colour in vehicles always symbolises danger or stop. So traffic signal is red in colour and turns to stop vehicles.
becausse it is angry that it has to stand in the sun!
No that's not the answer either Sridevi. Come on guys!
because it likes people to pay attention to it..? :)
There being no other colour to turn !!!Is this a tricky question or a serious one?
The red light contains the quality of a dominant wavelength, can be seen from long distance... and control the speed.....

Other reason is "RED" color is easily distinguesed by people with color-blindness..... to provide some support for those people too.....
And Traffic light colors are universal color codes.
Very good Deepti...
