The story of Lalit Modi's meteoric rise to power would beat even a popular Bollywood.He is considered to be one of the top ten powerful persons in the country.His wheeling-dealing ability attracted the attention of the ex-chief minister of Rajasthan Mrs.Vasundhara Raje Scindia and according to Jaswant Singh ,Modi functioned as a de facto chief minister and struck several questionable land deals.It goes to the genius of this person that without playing cricket at any credible level he was appointed the BIG BOSS of IPL,courtsey Mr.Sharad Pawar.He is known to have allotted franchisee rights to teams owned by his relatives,filmsters and people - only he knows! Within three years he has amassed so much of pelf that he owns luxury yachts,havelis and a fleet of Mercedes-S class.Then one tweet in twitter has done him in.It is what can be called hubris which finally caught up with him.He became a Czar unto himself and started believing that the whole world is at his feet!!
