Design babies- unholy alliance between scientis and astrologers

It is believed that stars decide the future of a child and timing of birth will determine how intelligent and strong a child will be.

The astrologers guide parents how to design baby of their choice. The doctors even help parents to give birth at the time andf date suggested by astrologers to the extent possible. The astrologers and pandits even advise parents to recite certain mantra in every month as some planet is said to be lord of that month. They cite example of abhimanu. son of arjun of mahabharata. abhimanu leant war tactics when still in womb. There are many sites on internet like charak sanhita and others guiding these parents. The doctors say that a child in womb is not so actrive and can't learn but the parents tend to go by astrologers.

I don't know about others... but I do believe about astrology..many be due to my personal experiences.

The belief in astrology is another area which should come under intense scientific scrutiny.But here you have cited an interesting where the doctors who represent science allying themselves with one section of our society whose methods of operation are highly dubious and basis of their claims highly suspect.They make calculations on the basis of planetary postions which is ridiculous.Some planets only exist in their fertile imagination.For instance Rahu where does it exist.As far as doctors are concerned it is their duty to free society from the influence of these so called astrologers.

Astrology is a very deep subject treated to be a branch of science... It deals with the effect of the planets on human beings according to the rays that fall on individuals.

Designing a child is not I believe in. If any thing unexpected bad is present, I am ready to face it.
But recently I have read an article that pregnant ladies in metropolitain cities are undergoing c-sections just by calculating the good time according to astrology......

Is there any proof Rahu doesn't exist?
Our so called science is still in progressive mode. Everyday it is discarding facts of previous day.
If we can't see certain things, doesn't mean there is no existence.

come on guys Astrology is pseudoscience. You should start discussing about Astronomy instead.

Deepti- Believing in astrology is not much problem. But it is improper to tamper with nature. Let the child be born naturally in due course. It makes no sense to schedule the birth of a child on basis of astrological prediction in collaboration with doctors.

Shalu- You have correctly stated that astrology is pseudoscience. Many believe in astrology and palmistry. This is however not so serious. When people tamper with nature on basis of astrology and doctors cooperate, it reaches criminal dimension.
