I think this trend has also caught on the educated women in our country too.As long it cheers and does not inebriate- no complaints!! It is in a lighter vein,Gulshan!!!
womens are also breaching all the stronghold of men.Alcohol is one of them.Good to hear this :) :) :) :) :)
I agree Chinmoy- As long as wine cheers and does not inebriate this is fine. As long as some one does not misbehave after drink, we have no problem.
If you drink in moderation, wine is good for heart. A recent research has revealed this. According to survey conducted In America and Europe, the men and women included in the sample were completely free from heart disease. According to results of the research, the risk of heart disease is reduced 31% in men and 42% in women. The maximum limit is three pegs. Drinking more is dangerous to health.
Its not a surprising news, because foreign people and their lifestyle is different from Indian people irrespective of gender.

Educated women are in advance from less educated/un educated women. London people is in advance culture.
Babu- The relevant point here is health, particularly, heart. In our country also, people drink on Holi and marriage functions. Drink in armed forces is common. The tribal in North East, Jharkhand, Ladakh & Jammu 7 kashmir all drink. We have our own Desi brand of wine.
The point is that if you drink moderately, this is good. If you drink heavily, this will be disastrous.
Medical science is known to be the most inexact of all branches of sciences.I too subscribed to the belief that moderate drinking is good for the heart but a few days back I came across a research report which tried to rubbish it! The jury may be out on this!

As long as they wont sleep in the streets and makes accidents I feel there is not much problem.
Right Shalu- Drink in moderation is okay. There are conflicting medical reports. However, if wine were absolutely injurious, this would not be allowed in Armed Forces.
Pradeep- In our country too, it is part of culture in tribal and hilly places. There are many varieties of local wines. People in India used to take alcohol even before Britishers came to India. We have Chhang in Ladakh, Mahua and tari in Bihar and jharkhand. The North East states also have tradition of wine. In fact, there is no community in world that does not consume liqueur.

Only we need to exercise moderation. Excessive drinking is definitely bad and leads to ill health and inefficiency.

That means educated is in front of all thing !! :silly: :silly: :silly: :silly: :silly: :silly:
The educated women consider themselves at par with men and so they feel privileged to drink like men. As regards late marriage, they spend many years in education and career and thus they marry at late age. This happens also to men who are highly educated.
I think to stop drinking women is more difficult than man. Educated women free himself to enjoy more . to get enjoy more they start drinking.
I think this behaviour is because of some status symbol. They think that it will make them "something"
