SC finally took a decision to go for mediation path for the disputed case of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. There is a panel of 3 people including Sri Sri Ravi Shankar who have be chosen for the task. It will go for 8 long weeks and then the report has to be submitted. Many have welcomed the move while many others feel that it will be of no use. So what is your take on it? Will this take decades old case forward from here?

Now this mediation team after working for 149 days has submitted its report to SC.  Now let's hope that there is a day to day hearing and the verdict should come out soon.  The matter has been dragged a way too long almost seven decades.

I am taking out this old post as starting a new post on same was not needed.

A bit of give and take from both sides would greatly help in solving the case and also make sure that communal harmony is maintained

Give and take is right formula for solving this problem. But both side have some fundamentalist. So it is not easy to solve this problem.

In fact it's another political issue which should have been solved at local level decades ago. Politics has taken it so far but now the things are coming to an end- hopefully.

It looks like a never ending process, which seemed to end few months back as well. So even this time I am not so hopeful.

I am also being hopeful this time. Our country has witnessed historic changes like end of triple talaq and now full integration of Kashimir in recent times. Hopefully this too will come to a logical end.

Seeing that Modi has done what not one person could do in the last 70 years, I have no doubt that this issue would also be resolved very soon. First Kashmir, let things settle properly and then Ayodhya.

Modi and this BJP government have will power to take strict decision. After threaten of Mehbooba Modi decide to remove section 35 A. A decision like it can solve problem of Ayodhya.

This case is in Supreme Court so Modi has no role in this. If the Apex court feels that the other party has the ownership on the land then it will go to them. The supreme Court's verdict will be based on ownership of land and not the sentimental issues.

Supreme Court has proved itself to be biased in many cases and I think there are certain things that cannot be judged merely on the basis of ownership facts. As far as ownership of land in Kashmir is concerned, it really and truly belonged to Hindu kings the names of whom can be traced as far back as 7-8th centuries. The Islamist rulers came into picture much later. So does it apply to Ram Mandir as well as other temples in Kashi, Mathura etc. I hope the history and sentiments of Hindus are also taken into account. Until now, all we have been hearing and doing is trying not hurt sentiments of Kashmii Muslims and other Muslims. High time, we consider feelings of the rightful majority too.

That's what I am trying to say. Once the Supreme Court delivers its verdict, the side which loses its case will not agree to that. Probably then the role of Modi will come into thee picture. Let's keep our finger crossed and see what comes out in present situation.

Absolutely Kalyani , does any of these who go on about the suffering Muslims of valley (who are experts at India bashing, stone throwing, hiding terrorists and celebrate when Indian soldiers are martyred) , even say a word about Pandits who have been butchered and driven out f their homes ? There is a limit to how much one can put up with ,and now it is pay back time

I am hearing congress members in Parliament right now. Every Congress member including their leader in Parliament, Rahul Gandhi who is not in house but tweeting from no one knows from where, and Gulam Nabi Azada is trying to prove that removing 370 is not fair. I think they are just short of saying that Kashmir is a separate territory from India and only they can decide whether they want to stay with India or go with Pakistan.

Lok Sabha passes most bills in a single session in it's first session. With majority by it's side, BJP will bring in all it's ideologies to reality to India.

This in turn will easily be the biggest positive for Indians.

In Lok Sabha BJP have majority so it have not any problem is passing bills, but still it have not majority in Rajaya Sabha, but leaders are managing house properly.

Well the news of Kashmir has hijacked all media channels and newspapers. But I came across one line on one of the news channels that some documents have to be claimed to be stolen by Normohi Akhara people. I am not sure about the details. Hope things are not prolonged because of such things.

I am reading every day proceeding of this case. It is right they claim that documents was stolen, but it is not possible for them to prove that thief take with them documents with other things.

I don't see any need for mediation or SC hearing as Subramaniam Swamy has opined that GOi can construct the temple straightaway by an ordinance like Article 370.

I think that will be the last step GOI would want to take as ASI has proved beyond any doubts that they found Hindu Idols while digging up the temple's area.

The "Babur Nama" devotes a paragraph to the razing of the temple by one of his generals( of Babur). He subsequently built a mosque over it but for centuries, for some reason, it was not used for prayers. This is a strong reason to just raze it or maybe use the latest techniques and re-erect it some distance away. As it is a historical monument I am loathed to just burn or destroy it. I am told in Egypt some monuments have been shifted after teh Aswan Dam was constructed.
