Which teams do you think will make it till semi final? This time it is round robin phase where each team will face all other teams in the Group stage itself. There is only one group and these matches give time to rectify flaws and take course correction and know other teams strengths and weaknesses in round robin phase itself.

Each team will play all other 9 teams once and at the end whichever teams stand in top 4 will progress to semi finals.

I am expecting England, India, Pakistan and South Africa to progress to semi finals. West Indies can spring in a surprise given their recent matches against England in West Indies.

What are your opinions?

Cricket fans all across the globe missed the action of Pakistan versus Sri Lanka today. The match being abandoned without having a single ball bowled due to rain. But on the flip side, I am happy as Pakistan is being clearly denied a vital point. Based on their present form, they were the clear favorites against Sri Lanka. This will definitely hamper Pakistan's chances of reaching the top 4 in the tournament.

I think it was not good that match did not happen. However I hope that India does not lose any points in this way.

Hope they play to win as many matches as possible as early as possible as weather is not supporting any team.

The way South Africa is playing it's becoming extremely difficult for them every day to make it to the top 4 of the tournament. It's true that they are plagued by injuries to some of their key players, but still they have only themselves to blame for their performance.

On the other hand, India began their campaign in the best possible manner. Chahal and Bumrah bowled exceptionally well. Kuldeep was impressive as well. Rohit Sharma rode his luck in the early part of his innings to make it a big century. India next faces Australia (strengthened by the return of Steve Smith and David Warner).

South Africa is virtually out of contention so early, the schedule also playing it's part.

They are practically at the door of exit where they have knocked and are waiting for it to open. That is how bad their situation is.

CSA decision to exclude AB was right. One cannot come into the team during World Cup only. I support CSA in this regard.

Even the captain words does not inspire any confidence.

India actual Match will happen on Sunday. Let's see how they perform in that match.

South Africa lost match to Bangladesh only. They have good players individually but they are not collective at all. That is hitting them bad.

I feel this is the weakest team South Africa has ever put up in their world cup history so far. Even their fielding standards have gone down drastically to what it used to be in the past. As a cricket fan it's very hurting to see a team like South Africa bleed this way ! I believe they would have struggled even with the inclusion of a player like AB de Villiers.

True, everytime in every world cup when South Africa play, they look like good contenders. But this time around there is no such expectation from it. Its down and out. True, even ABD inclusion would not have changed things much.

England seems to be the strongest contender this tournament.  Others that can be there in Semi finals are India,  Australia and New Zealand.

For South Africa,  it's really a bad tournament.  Their performance is a big disappointment.

Australia is good.

But it is too early to say that India and New Zealand are favorites as they have played weaker teams.

Today's match will reveal a lot about the possibility of India in the semi final.  Let's see how well they handle Aussies today.  It will definitely be a thrilling match and won't be easy and one sided like the previous one.

Actually if a team wins 5-6 of its matches (out of 9) they should expect a place in last 4 stage (depending on how others perform of course) so if SA have to be in top 4 they will have to win all their remaining matches which is not as easy as it sounds.

South Africa is up against a rejuvenated West Indies in today's match at Hampshire Bowl. SA must win this match to keep their hopes alive of reaching the top 4. However, it's still not clear whether South Africa's injured fast bowler Lungi Ngidi will be able to play this match or not.

Lungi Ngidi will mostly be not playing as a precautionary measure. West Indies start as favourites in this match, but if South Africa wins it will be good as we do not want West Indies in Semi Finals as they can win on their day by a big margin.

South Africa on the other hand are chokers and are better to be in semi finals but virtually they are at the door of exit.

India beat Aussies in this match. India was super in all fields. bowling batting and fielding. Now on 13 India will play with Newzeland. Newzwland is strong team.

Indeed New Zealand is a very strong team. India should be wary and increase their performance standards. New Zealand have depth in all three departments.

In last match, I was happy to see fielding of both sides.  It was high standard one.  Rahul and Jadeja were good.

Bad news of team India and its supporter. Shikhar Dhwan sustained fracture in thumb and it might take one month to recover. World cup end on 14 July, it means he can't play in coming matches.

I can see England, Australia, New Zealand in the top 3 round. I am not sure of India until it clears next 4 matches. Because first two were won with some sort of randomness than clear one sided match. I mean we won against Australia while they were pretty much in control of the match. I think that's one reason I'd wait till everything settles. You can count the South Africa and Afghanisthan out of the league the way they are playing.

Today the cricket fans can expect to watch a mouthwatering contest between Australia and Pakistan provided the rains does not play a spoil sport. Pakistan is in good form although their last match against Sri Lanka got washed away. And Australia is a team that cannot be discounted by any stretch of the imagination especially when they are in action in a world cup.

On the other hand, Dhawan's injury can eventually turn out to be a big blow for India's chances of reaching the top four in this edition of the world cup.

Dhwan have only hair line fracture so he will not play in 3 matches,In Bookies market India is at 2nd place. England is at 1 st, Australia is at 3rd and SA is at 4th place.

Rain is going to play a big role in this. Sri lanka is topping the chart slowly. And it seems like even without winning they are getting closer to the top 6. I think world cup should never be played when there is a rain around. I mean it wastes money and also takes things in a pretty bad taste for sure.

Just came to know that this is the wettest June in England in the last five years. So, bad luck for the teams and the fans. Yes you are right Sri Lanka is slowly moving ahead courtesy the help of Rain God ! However, in spite of it I don't see the island nation making it to the top four in the 2019 world cup.
