This is something we get to see and often have experienced ourselves. In Mahabharat we see how Drona is tricked because he hears only the first part of the sentence Ashwathama Hatha ...Iti Kunjarova !

Half knowledge becomes hazardous only when a person tries to show it has a lot of knowledge. But there is a to way convert half knowledge into adequate knowledge and it only happens if learn to learn from someone in any way because no one can say that he contains that much knowledge as much as no one can. While on other side lots of knowledge is harmful too. When a person thinks that he had acquired a lot of knowledge then he/she becomes overconfident. " A Little Knowledge is a dangerous thing. So is the lot." -Albert Einstein
A person who is very knowledgeable is normally level headed and does not feel the need to show off his or her knowledge unless called for. It is the ones with half baked knowledge that feel the need to show off ..a wiser person will definitely add on and try to Gain knowledge rather than take a narrow minded view on all issues that the half baked minds would do , limiting their interest to what comes within the sphere of their own limited knowledge

More knowledgeable person's overconfidence is rare but it is. They think they know everything and do not try to understand another one's point of view.
Rumors and gossips normally rely on half knowledge which in itself may mean something else altogether . There have been several instances where malicious gossip has led to extreme consequences , when the person concerned was sensitive and had been brought up in a very sheltered atmosphere.
Indeed half knowledge is dangerous as it puts the person in jeopardy in his life, career & many other aspects. However if one can be understanding & interactive with people & co ordinate to get the full knowledge it would be good.
Having a sound basic knowledge is of paramount importance.
I would say Google has made our lives very hassle free. Gaining knowledge has indeed become quite convenient but it's our attitude which has made us to take the advantage of the situation. Some students and some freelance writers are actually abusing the usage of Google which is a very sorry plight.

But it has created a lots of issues also. Many a times Google gives us half cooked knowledge. All that we get is not what we were looking for or wanted. Many a times it is misleading as all the contributions online might not be from a reliable source.
Here I take an example of a some medical symptoms, you google it and you are flooded with information...some which guide you and most of them misguide you and confuse you. You follow them to cure your symptoms and you are in a soup and have to rush to medical emergency. Many information instill unnecessary fear in you. So in such cases , it is half knowledge from Google which turns to be a curse.
For example, one of my relative is a kidney patient and is on low potassium diet. Her daughter googled about foods for healthy kidney and found lotus seeds, drumsticks etc. beneficial for kidney. She gave them to her mother confidently relying on her knowledge from Google. Her mother's ceratinine level rose up and her condition worsened. When she visited the doctor, she found out that these foods help to have healthy kidney in a regular human but not if the person is kidney patient and is on low sodium and potassium diet.
so here half knowledge would have killed the person
