I came across this quote by Alan Cohen (who is a renowned writer of many inspirational books ) that I find pretty inspiring ..

" Personal growth is not just a matter of learning new information but of unlearning old limits "

Would you agree with that ? What is your take on the subject ?

Personal growth means professional and financial uplift, happy friendly and family relations, growth of dependents and family members mental satisfaction.  I have observed that even if some body himself grows, he remains unsatisfied if his dependents are laggards. I know some very successful professionals who are unsatisfied because of their children's  ill progress. Even a very successful person will be unhappy if his forty years old son is unemployed and still depends on him.

Fortunately, my son is not depending on me. He is well settled

Personal growth means to establish your self as mature person and understanding too.

Personal growth means enjoying life with ones own honest efforts.

Rambabu ,point grabbing post as usual not making any sense ..

I totally agree with Gulshan .. " some body himself grows, he remains unsatisfied if his dependents are laggards. I know some very successful professionals who are unsatisfied because of their children's"

Unless there is harmony, honesty as pointed by vijay and be mature and develop understanding one can never grow ..

I agree , reading and interaction with people really helps ,it doesn't matter what kind of interaction it is because you are learning all the time.

I too fully endorse your view. When we interact with people, we always end up learning something new. Even the bad experiences we have with people gives us a new understanding of life.

Personal growth

It means to grow from what you were yesterday. No competition with the outside world but with yourself. A personal competition no one even knows about. Growing in life, doing what you always wanted to do. Growing from somebody you were yesterday to someone you want to be today.

This is what personal growth is to me and should be for all of us.

Personal growth would be different to different people depending on their lifestyle and status in life , we cannot dictate terms and say it should be the same for all..

Absolutely ! we need to have n open mind rather than being judgmental and jump to conclusions...I find that most people are quick to form opinions possibly because they have been pre conditioned to do so.
