Mangalore is a very safe city and women need not have any fear going out alone late at night. There are times when I go for a drive late at night when I am unable to sleep and I see the police doing their rounds and at times they stop me and ask where I am from and then ask me to drive on. The crime we normally have is communal violence which has now considerably reduced . What do you think of your own city , is it safe at night ?

Please go ahead. In these forums many members posted about the subject including me. I said Coimbatore is one of  the safest cities in India.

I agree with that since I visited Ahmedabad in 2013 and was there for a week visiting other places as well.  We were a group of women only, but we found it absolutely safe to travel at night , even go for walks ..
