Came across this very disturbing news article. I was wondering how safe are our kids in school? Are the schools being  reduced to money making and IIT producing institutions and nothing else?

Cant even think of the pain the little girl went through.. this is too saddening.

Two things come to my mind , five year old children  need to be monitored when they are moving from place to place , here changing classrooms. Secondly, of course the callousness of the teachers in not calling for medical help ! I agree most private schools have become money making machine s

Very true... I cant think of any logical reason for having kept the little child in pain for such a long time.

Another thing is they did not inform the parents of the seriousness of the matter over the call. I am really out of words for expressing my anguish over this situation.

It was very callous on the part of the school authorities not to take the girl to the hospital immediately. The parents were right to storm the school. Fortunately all schools are not careless like that. Most of the schools try to ensure the safety of the students.

What happen with this baby is not right. Teacher must be look after children in school,

It is shocking but that is how most of the schools if not all run.. they have turned into money making business. They take more children than that they can take care of. School authorities come under scan after such sad incidents, catch attention for some time, follow guidelines for some time and then everything goes back to old self till we face another unfortunate incident.

Remember the VIBGYOR  rape case of a six year old which made headlines for few months and is then lost . Are schools following the guidelines, doing police check up of employees before hiring.??

It was not first of the kind and will not be the last too. That's the sad and bitter truth.

The schools have indeed become inhumane. They only know how to mint money. Neither the teaching quality is good nor their attitude towards the students is compassionate. These schools rely on show and propaganda to earn more and more money. The license of the said school should be cancelled.

This is really an inhumane act. How can school authorities didn't take this kid to the hospital.. what they were waiting for?

I know this school very well. I live very close to Thakur International School. This school is a kind of money making business. They just want to make money, they don't care about students or parents at all. If you have money they are all good. Strict action must be taken against them.

Schools in India are just interested in money making.  And it is what they are doing. Like any other thing education is commercialised. Strict action must be taken against such Schools.

The school owners only cares for money, they only think how to get more and more money from parents. And teachers only think about their salary, they only think how to get monthly salary properly. They think about the salary increment and not about student's increment. Greed is every where.

Its not uncommon to see some Schools claim that theirs is the only School which got 100 out of 100  results. The Parents never verify these facts and admit their children in these Schools. That is the biggest mistake made by the parents

Yes. Nowadays, schools have been business organizations. They all want to earn more and more money anyhow. For them; money matters, not education.

No doubt schools are no longer just a center of education but one of the many commercial institutes. Many people are investing on educational institutions and turning them into a profitable ventures. But to say that they think only about profit and not about education or other welfare of students is wrong.

Those who manage and own educational institutions knows that if they neglect the welfare of students, they won't ve much students in future, so it would be unwise to be negligent

Most schools have parent's- teachers association or hold parents teacher's meeting which ensures that some guidelines are followed.

If I am not mistaken in most of the places in India there are students organization who are quite vocals about the issues related to students welfare, so I doubt if the school authority can get away by ignoring the welfare of students.

No doubt there are students organization but almost all of them are politically motivated right from high school onwards . Private colleges however manage to maintain a better discipline although they charge higher fees. It is precisely because of this that matter parents prefer private institutions. Govt run schools and colleges are literally free for all in all respects..

Everyone had studied in different types of school. Not in every school happen this type sadistic activities but in some schools, these things happen due to weak administration and angry behavior of the teacher.Precaution for this activities is a full responsibility of trustee/principle.

Education presently has become fully commercialized. Today I heard in a News channel, the fee these schools and colleges collecting have become a burden to the parents.

A school is supposed to be the second home for a kid. The parents need to be assured of all the security and medical facilities present before they admit their children into a school. Especially for five years old kids, teachers need to pay extra attention.

I agree with you. A school is supposed to be the Second home for the Child. Of course, it is upto the parents to ensure, if the conditions in the school are satisfactory or not.

Before admission most schools now ask for details and records of immunization, family doctors tell no  and other such relevant details. As far as safety is concerned , except the expensive private schools the security is inadequate in majority of the middle range schools. The govt run schools hardly have any !

Yesterday, one of the moderators on this forum was involved in a debate with me in which he was getting thrashed badly.

Realizing that he was failing miserably in front of his friends, he started personal attacks on me. I was quick to reply as I don't take crap from such people.

Then he did something very cowardly- Being moderator, he deleted two of my posts.

Heights of bullying!!

Thanks for another informative web site. Where else could I get that type of info written in such an ideal way? I have a project that I’m just now working on, and I have been on the look out for such information. happy wheels demo
