President Obama will relinquish office on 20 January and many are wondering what his legacy is. The fact is Obama came to power on an anti-war platform but he is leaving with the US embroiled deep in Afghanistan and Syria. His period has also seen the rise of the ISIS and the the Taliban dead has become alive again. He failed to project US power to China and Iran which captured uS sailors. All in all, he was a setback to great power status as he had his own agenda. He was Afro-American, a black with a Muslim father. Though claiming to be Christain he never once used the term Islamic terror.

President Obama is now out and the Trump era has begun. I am afraid whatever Obama has done like Obamacare will be dismantled and the only thing of his legacy that will survive is the rise of the ISIS during his term.

Obamacare was dismantled within an hour after Trump took office   . However, Obama alone cannot be blamed for the rise of ISIS , other nations too have contributed by not standing united and fighting them

Obama had a big hand in the rise of the ISIS

How come, Obama had a big hand in the rise of  the ISIS? Please elaborate.

When President Obama took over there was no ISIS.  At that time he took a decision to withdraw from Iraq and created a vacuum. this vacuum was filled by the ISIS  which within a span of 6 months occupied 75% of Iraq and Syria. Basically, the battle is a Shia-Sunni conflict and at that time Saudi-backed iSIS. Obama kept quiet for 6 years as the iSIS consolidated its hold. and intervened at a belated stage > the battle is on and the iSIs is fighting back. As said by Paul Ryun and Newt Gingrich  American leaders, Obama is squarely responsible for the rise of ISIS. One cannot read his mind to divine what was his plan.

ISIS was an extension of Al Qaeeda and regrouped in 2004 calling themselves ISIS. I too agree that withdrawal of American troops from Iraq was the trigger but Obama wouldn't know that ..

There have been many triumphs and struggles during two year presidency terms of Obama. His obamacare facilities are the cause of debate. His great devotion and contributions to health care, education, energy, climate and finance has been gigantic. Due to majority of Republicans for last five years in Congress they able to block some of path breaking legislation but Obama has had his way to pas and implement those policies.

Now Trump is changing his versions ever day. The other day he was equating Intelligentsia with Nazis. He is inconsistent. God knows what will be new Version tomorrow.

The world cannot expect the USA to solve all its problems. USA also has its limitations and its economy has suffered because of its involvement in wars continuously. Obama withdrew from Iraq because enough involvement had taken place. The regional powers must also take some load of ensuring peace in their areas. Some commentators are having jaundiced eyes and they always see yellow.

I would blame China a lot more for the manner in which they have been supporting terror groups n the Asian region simply to be in Pakistans good books. It could also be because of their greed in extending their borders ..

China's expansionism and it's  support to Terrorism is well known. Trump, after he took over as the President of America, pledged to root out Terrorism everywhere . It remains to be seen, to what extent Trump succeeds.

In politics there is a lot of rhetoric and should'nt be taken as gospel truth.

China's game plan is to throttle India and so far they are a success. The recent news broadcast on China TV that the Chinese mechanized troops will reach Delhi in 10 days of a war shows the Chinese mind. India is too passive  and Modi or no Modi does not know what is geo-political power.

In that case, will Trump succeed in stopping China at leas for his own Country. And another new thing Trump is going to have talks with Mosi on mutual cooperation.

Legacy of Obama was there as we could see there are some positive and negative sides  it and in the process of recognizing the extreme geo-political elements we do see Obama goes extreme nearer to India after PM Modi took over and what should be the foreign policy of Trump towards India should be very interesting observation.

Trump's foreign Policy towards India is good as of now Trump dialed Modi and invited him to visit India. It appears a a new era of Indo- American relations going to start.

From what I perceive, Trump is planning to go all out on terrorism and terrorists which is good for India. Trump has also made it clear in his first news conference after taking office that American interests come first which is how it shd be with the leader of any country.

President Donald Trump spoke to PM Modi.Modi  is the Fifth World leader P.resident Trump spoken with.. after he assumed office. During his Phone talk with Modi,  President Trump called India, a True friend. he is interested to fight against Terrorism.. Additionally President Trump expressed that, he wanted to improve economic conditions in both the Countries

I hope Donald succeeds as there is a build up of tremendous opposition against him.

Trump will definitely succeed. Oppositions are bound to be there. If Trump works on a strategy and Plan, I think, he will  definitely  emerge as one of the India friendly countries.

Trump is facing opposition from his own cabinet appointees. It may affect his effectivity.
