You should definitely visit Maharashtra, it is a beautiful place with everything that a tourist would like to visit, seas, beautiful coastlines, Mountains, old temples and forts etc. Also Maharashtrian cuisine is one of the most versatile cuisines and you are sure to love the food as well.
I too am very keen on exploring Maharashtra, not seen much except Mumbai and Kolhapur which is a very nice town..I am sure the interiors and other spots are much more beautiful ..
Have you really been Kolhapur? Yes , its a lovely place and it has still retained its old world charm even though it too is not untouched by modern developments, but I still like it. That aside, whole of Maharashtra is definitely beautiful and worth exploring.
We made a stop over at Kolhapur while driving to Bombay from Mangalore. Other than that I have also visited Kandala , again while driving and stopping over to look around. It is really beautiful and since it was the middle of rainy season there were many waterfalls and greenery everywhere pretty much like Shiradi ghats in Karnataka..
You picked a great time to be in Khandala, rainy season is the best to visit, Sahyadri ranges turn into a green paradise and every nook and corner is beautiful, wherever you go. Unfortunately, since both Lonavala and Khandala are very close to both Pune and Mumbai, thousands of tourists, especially college students flock over to these places and the entire region experiences total chaos! It is a nightmare traveling between Pune and Mumbai now.
My wife is a great devotee of Saibaba of Shiridi. Long ago we along with some other friends visited the Saibaba Samadhi Mandir. She insists on visiting the Saibaba samadhi Mandir once again. At a convenient time, we try to visit again

Well, that is good, Shirdi gets thousands of visitors each year from AP, but it is nowhere close to Pune-Mumbai Western ghats range. What Usha mentioned in her post is SHiradi ghats in Karnataka, a different place and the ones I mentioned are again different places.

Tanks for the Correction. There is a Saibaba Puja Committee in Vizag very near to me.Every year, the committee conducts tours to Shiridi.

Heart stealing Rajasthan.
Long ago, I visited Ajanta , Ellora caves. While Ajanta caves are famous for excellent paintings, Ellora caves caves are known for their Architectural grandeur'.
Every place have their own specialty. In coming days building of High court at Jodhpur is a Architectural grandeur.

You should definitely come to Maharashtra then, Konkan region has a very beautiful and long coastline and there are still plenty of beaches that are pristine and not yet touched by full fledged development. Konkan cuisine too is great with a variety of delicious seafood dishes, if you like them.
I came back two days ago from Goa. I visited many beaches in Goa in four days and I saw Dudhsagar waterfall there. The names of the places in Goa are difficult to remember for me but I enjoyed my stay in Goa. I did a little bit of shopping also and the taxi drivers are a little bit expensive than usually and I noticed a monopoly of taxi drivers in Goa. Other taxi cabs companies like Uber were protested against by the local Goa taxi drivers. Apart from this, I got a bit tanned on the beaches and I enjoyed every moment in Goa.

I saw it on youtube, I have not visited Punjab which is a state I am really keen on visiting ..I also looked up the new High court complex being built in Jodhpur, it looks massive and going to be a very intricate and beautiful structure ..

The problem with taxis and autos exists in almost all states, and private cabs such as Uber and Ola are resisted everywhere. And since Goa is a state which has the highest number of foreign tourists each year, it is bound to be more expensive than anywhere else. Other than that, Goa is one of the most beautiful places to visit. Did you visit the churches and Mangeshi and Shanta Durga temples in Old Goa?? They are not to be missed in any case.

Same here, the only place I have visited is Calcutta which is a city I would love to visit again, also other north eastern states which seem so beautiful. I would also love to visit the cleanest village in India , .

Images of Northeast simply provokes me to visit those places but don't know when that desire will be fulfilled. Talking about Calcutta, I can only say that, the city has many things to offer but it is not at all a clean city.
