Suicide over OROP

There must be some reason for stopping the relatives. Yes today i had seen Sanjay was stopped from visiting the victims by the Army. I think when  OROP has been sanctioned by the Government why some committed suicide ? I am also interested to know the reasons behind the Suicides.

It is indeed sad but it is s fact that past sins have long shadows and the army men are at the receiving end because of this ..a great pity !

I have repeatedly written and said that the Modi government made a sham of the sanction of OROP which is not as per the Koshiari commission as approved by parliament. In addition,  the services have been downgraded further by Modi in the Nehru tradition. I have so many times written that the army is an extension of political power and world prestige and yet the Modi government is sitting on a volcano. Read all my comments and articles and you will see that Modi has let the army down. Its sad but Modi will have to answer to history. People can read that I wrote so many times that army is demoralized How many know that a IAS officer when posted to a hard or forward area, is paid 61000 while an officer from army gets 31000. Such things are dime a dozen.

Ever since teh Nehru era the army is a step child. Modi sanctioned a sham OROP. I have written so many times. alas the BJP government does lip service and nothing else.

I agree. But congress will not stop playing Dramas showing false sympathy on the army. Any how you can enjoy the Drama being enacted at RML Hospital, Delhi. Along with Rahul Gandhi, the police detained Delhi's deputy CM Manish Sisodia for  obstructing Hospital work. All politics.

 Yes it is high time for the Government to act and do justice to the Army. It is due to Army's role we are able to sleep peacefully.

I hope wisdom will dawn on Modi governmnet and OROP as per the Koshiari commission and approved by parliament is approved straightaway. But knowing the politicians this may not happen and the result is that the next war you may have the army fighting with one hand tied behind its back. The army is holding the nation together and its sad that Modi after making thundering promises before elections  has back tracked.

Modi praises the army for its role in Surgical Strikes on the platforms. But he is not doing anything  related to OROP. It is not good for any country to keep the army dissatisfied. In this respect i blame all politicians. Congress and BJP are equally guilty.

It is very sad. Our army stands for our Nation and the entire nation stands for Army. But this entire nation excludes the shameless politicians who put themselves and politics above Nation. 

Lives lost at border makes us proud as a Nation, but lives lost due to political game brings disgrace 

It is due the selfless services of the army, the Nation is safe and secure today.  Such army is being neglected. Sad state of affairs. On an urgent basis army should be given its due. The onus lies on the Government.

It is not fair to keeping aside to army. Government must be give them what they deserve. Army solider also have family.

army is a sentinel, always guarding the border. Such army should be provided with all amenities and facilities they deserve. It is the minimum a Nation can do.

It is fact that situation of army personal is not much good in country. When soldiers died government announce some cash award, petrol pumps or gas agency or agriculture land. But it is fact that getting all these are not easy task for the families of soldiers.

It is fact that situation of army personal is not much good in country. When soldiers died government announce some cash award, petrol pumps or gas agency or agriculture land. But it is fact that getting all these are not easy task for the families of soldiers.

Making the things easier for the family of martyrs should be made much easier. and they should be automatic. This is more essential. The concerned authorities should see that the  War widows need not run from Pillar to post .

I still feel that Modi would take this forward and not sit on it like it was done by the previous govts. He has to make amends and see that the armed forces are treated well, in fact they need to be given special treatment for the sacrifice they and their families are doing.

In any nation right from the times of Chandtragupta Maurya and the Roman Preatorian guard not forgetting Vikramaditya and writings of Chanakaya the army is always given pride of place as it is the the part of the governmnet that keeps the country safe. In India with an insurrection in Kashmir and NE and fifth columunists like the ISIS supporters and SIMI the army role is a lot. We also have to guard against China and Pakistan. However Nehru set the trend as he felt the army is not needed. His paranoid fear of a coup led him to down grade the army with disasterous results. We expected Modi to rectify but he I feel lacks global strategic vision otherwise he would have read Mao's Red book.  The next war wiil expose the Indian army and the soldier on the front cannot remain unaffected by a  veteran commmitting suicide.

Do you expect an army revolt , in case Modi fails to do Justice to the army ? But still I hope Modi has the intention to render all the help to the army.

According to the papers today, the army veteran committed suicide because of a fault with accounting done by the bank which had shown a lesser the amount given to him although the govt had conceded to his demands. One cannot hold the Modi govt responsible for that like Congress partys VC who seems to be direction less in all he does, is making g it look like. His own 'family' having done precious little do far

The blame game on every issue is the real trouble maker. It is sad that an army man committed suicide but the reason behind his action is not clear. I think it will be appropriate to wait for some time so that facts get revealed and then one can point out the drawbacks. We know what the previous government did so to judge the present government we need to give them some time to set the things right. I know, army men feel dejected as they are not given the due they deserve and that's quite natural. Hope the  present government do not follow the footsteps of the previous government! 

It is not right to say that a nation is kept United by its army. It would then mean that it is an army state like our neighbour to a large extent. Nations are united because of shared ideals and a common ideology. Also it is another fallacy being propagated in a vested manner that all that good that happened before 2014 was independent of the politics of those times and today it is because of it. Constant bashing of targeted  leaders of days gone by only shows a paranoid state of mind leading to nowhere except reinforcing deeply held prejudices. Army has a role of protection and it needs to be balanced with other professions. Why OROP should not be extended to other professions and only the army is also asked by many.

I agree. There can be flaw in system. sometimes, there is accounting or clerical mistake. There are remedies available to every one. Suicide is no solution to any problem.  Life is certainly not a bed of roses.
