Isolating Pakistan. Is it possible ?

I saw a lot of panel discussions on several TV channels by 'experts' on how to deal with Pakistan.

Some of these geniuses called for 'isolating' Pakistan. Others spoke of getting Pakistan declared a terrorist state by the international community, still, others spoke of scrapping the Indus Water Treaty, etc. These geniuses do not realize one thing : all this talk of isolating or quarantining Pakistan overlooks a crucial factor, which is a super power China. China is solidly behind Pakistan, as it has huge economic investments in that country, particularly in the Baluchistan area which is very rich in natural resources.

We may keep thumping our chests and trumpeting about our great diplomatic victory over Pakistan, but it is all a sham. China (and maybe some other countries ) having economic interests in Pakistan will never allow it to go under. USA will also not allow a Pakistan collapse.

The hype by our TRP driven media is all empty gas, ' full of sound and fury signifying nothing '.

Well it is not possible to isolate any individual but here we are talking about isolating whole countrymen, which is really seems to be like impossible.

We are talking about political and commercial isolation which is possible provided India is able to mobilize support from all quarters.

India is getting support from all over the World. Pakistan has been isolated globally. This led to frustration  in Pakistan. Out of this frustration Pakistan is repeatedly violating the Ceasefire lines. Today terrorist groups from JeM were nabbed. Besides our Army is effectively retaliating and foiling the attempts of Pakistan  to infiltrate in to Indian territory.

I don't think Pakistan has been isolated or will be isolated. The war industry in USA and other western countries thrives on terrorism. The Americans and other western countries are bothered about terrorism only when they are the targets.

Pakistan, on the Issue of exporting terror have shown the results in the South Asian region with three other Countries pulling out of the scheduled SAARC meet in Islamabad. India and many other Countries stepped up efforts to mount International pressure on Pakistan, after a terror attack in Uri and continuing Ceasefire violations by Pakistan. Along with India, Bangladesh Bhutan and Afghanistan also refused to attend SAARC summit. India's efforts to isolate Pakistan globally, undoubtedly had been successful

Pakistan has already got a glimpse and taste of isolation with the countries pulling out of SAARC summit. But still it has not learnt it's lessons and that is quite evident from the ceasefire violations from it's side that has been continued despite of surgical strikes and being cornered. It is definitely a tough nut to crack and needs a constant push from countries across the globe to stop it's push for terror. The irony is that Pakistan faced terrorism and had a taste of it's own medicine, but still refuses to reform.

Pakistan is Country that never learn lessons even though, it is severely warned by the entire World. If it continues its misdeeds, certainly it will face  more devastating Conditions. It will be opposed by its own People leading to internal war.

yeah, isolating Pakistan commercially will be a good lesson for Pakistan to teach them that they are on the wrong path and they should leave the hands of terrorist to become a good country.

International isolation appears to be looming over Pakistan. The Nation, is a News paper considered to be close to the Pakistani Government. Pakistan's own media is of the opinion that  Pakistan is really Isolated globally. Even China, Pakistan's ally has expressed concern about inaction on terror.

The majority of the Pakistani media is with the govt, let us not go overboard with what is our imagination and not reality. China has in fact blamed India saying that it had used the recent meet at Goa as a platform to isolate and blame India ...Russia has been friendly with both the countries. So far only America has shown support by openly telling Pakistan yesterday that it wd carry out surgical strikes if Pakistan continued it's terror activities..

Yes, It is the need of hour for the world to unite together and fight against Pakistan's terrorism. I hope threat from the supreme power of the world will have some effect on Pakistan. But I have a feeling that it might also fall on Pak's deaf ears till the threat actually change in to action

Isolating Pakistan is not going to be easy for a variety of reasons. India has to be prepared for taking suo moto actions on its own

It is so frustrating to read the same member post the same thing again and again, gaining points above quality of posts, seems to be the only agenda with him..

Sri Lanka has come out accusing Pakistan of exporting terror groups to train Sri Lankan Muslims, and, if more Asian countries come up with such charges, it will definitely help India's cause in isolating Pakistan to a certain extent .

Never mind the member, I have deleted his posts!

Yes, Like Sri Lanka, others too should come forward but the problem is with China, no matter what they keep insisting on supporting Pakistan and keep vetoing against declaring Pakistan as a terrorist state.

Isolating a country is not so easy as is made out to be. All nations are not our friends. Every country has its selfish interests in mind.

The fact is Pakistan cannot be isolated and the one factor that stands out is military might. This is Clausewitz theory of the armed forces as an extension of the political aim. India starting from Nehru never realized the value of the military and we had the ludicrous statement by Dr. Rajendra Prasad that India should disband the army. China is way ahead and Pakistan on near parity with India. China looms over the world  and even the USA is wary of it. I am afraid all discussions will lead nowhere till we can match China and that is impossible, now.

So should we just sit tight and get hit repeatedly. Pessimism is not the response nor repeatedly blaming Nehru et el. What is gained by it. Nothing. Plan for present and be prepared for future.

My father was an army man having fought in the 1962 war with Pakistan. He was severely wounded in the leg after  which he worked in the army postal service for a few years. Apparently , he was a great admirer of Nehru in the initial days after freedom , but later began to feel completely disillusioned. He used to call him an aimless dreamer and according to him most of the projects taken up were initiated by either Krishna Menon or others ..Nehru never thought of the future for sure , also whiled away the precious present which was probably the best period for India thereby creating innumerable problems for the future generations..

It is very much true that Pakistan has been Globally Isolated. Pakistan's news paper, The Nation is considered close to the Pakistani Government as well as the Military establishment strongly criticized its own Government. From this  one can very well imagine to what extent Pakistan is isolated globally.
