Seems quite silly to just state that probably Ganesha will be pleased with such offerings. The report does not state whether this is an old tradition or what. Actually meat and alcohol offered as naivedya is seen as a tradition in the worship of Goddess Kali, Goddess Tulja Bhavani in Maharashtra as they are Shakta panthiyas and these goddesses are warriors and so are offered the basic food of the warriors themselves. None of these factors are associated with Lord Ganesha so these kind of offerings are a bit ridiculous.
