Very recently, both Andhra and Telengana states succeeded in Quinoa Cultivation.

Quinoa is a bead shaped millet. Right now , it may not be a household name, but it is going to be one because of its high Nutritional value very soon.  Because of this, Farmers rightl call Quinoa ,'"as  Food Of The Gods." Right now quinoa production is very high in the Anantpur Dist. of A.P

Rs1500 per kg??? Looking forward to seeing this product in the markets. But the article you shared seems interesting hoping the product also lives upto the expectation. We will also need to wait and see how the market reacts to the new product

Rs,.1500 per Kg ? No I did not mention anywhere in the thread. Yes, as you said, its worth waiting to see how Quinoa fares in the market over a period.

@ rambabu has not read the article himself , but simply provided the link..

Food of the gods???  Isn't that going too over the board when there are already so many more nutritious traditional grains that are indigenous to our country??

In fact Ragi is considered the equivalent or even better in nutritional.values

Food of God but  not common men. How some one can afford it high price. Imported 1500 per Kg and Indian 950?

Quinoa is rich in Proteins, full of Fiber, high in Minerals and glutton free. Because of its richness in several Nutrients, FAO of the UN declared 2013 as the ' Inter National Year of the Quinoa.

Quinoa is a staple food of Andes Region from the days of Inca civilization. In Andes,it is known by the name Chisaya mama, means Mother of all Grains.

Yes, the imported grain is sold at Rs. 1500 per Kg. Quinoa has lot of varieties. The Quinoa's rate which is being under experimentation is one of the many other varieties of Quinoa.known as Bolivian Variety.

Now the experiment carried out in Hyderabad aims at a Quinoa, which is India Specific variety, whose price will come down over a period.

The purpose of giving a web link is that the thread poster expects the member to go through the site.

Bajra and Ragi are equally or more nutritious and cone at 10% of the price.

When a member provides a link to any article it is his or her duty to first read the article and know exactly what is in it rather than blindly copy paste and start the usual argument that he or she is always right in what they do..

When The Web link is  provided by the Poster, Its the members responsibility to read the contents of the link. If there are any mistakes in observing the contents, they can be discussed. There is no need of making it an issue.

I personally feel that what were is grown locally in our country itself if we can grow it with limited use of pesticides and other contaminants then that itself will be the best and the most nutritious food for us. Nature has provided us food according to our climate and body, it is not necessary that all foods how ever nutritious it may should suit us. We should always be in harmony with nature for best results.

There is no point in arguing because considering your earlier post where regarding the price , it is clear you did not read original article. So please do not argue further but observe the basic requisites of reading before posting! It is my sincere request.

You are 101% right. It is not necessary that any food which is suitable for people of one place is suitable for peoples of other place. Coconut oil is used in south for cooking but here in north it is not suitable for us, here mustred and soyabean oils are principal cooking oil.
