Maybe a few are taking this report in a positive way but most were expecting more. They are tearing and burning the report and hope to have more. I hope the government gives up as usual.

Always a middle path is adopted. Govt. and staff side both may compromise at some level.

Latest news says, the Panel head said that no more Pay commissions should be set up. Instead a more performance linked appraisal system must be put in place.

Whether performance linked appraisal is possible or not will be known only after some time.

In bureaucratic jobs performance linked appraisals are difficult to implement

Now the Pay Commission

s opinion came in to light. I certainly believe that there will be discussions on this matter. Let's wait and watch.

have we not been waiting and watching since 1947. We have gigantic patience !!

Having monstrous patience is a virtue. Things will not happen in a jiffy. Patience pays.

Bureaucrats will never get promotion if their promotion/raise was based on appraisal. They never have anything to show but their Rs8 tie the buy from Janpath footpath market.

They take care of their brethren beautifully and the cozy club continues unabated.

Don't you think, performance based appraisal will separate the Chaff from the grain ?

They think Rs 2.5 lac is not justified for the great talent they have.

In a bureaucratic structure same job is done by everyone in the hierarchy, so it becomes difficult to assign roles and no one wants to dilute role of anyone. So real appraisal of an individual does not come out. The group always shines.

That's a different thing. What the employees and pensioners think will not matter. It's only What the Government thinks matters.

It seems you are not aware, but PA's are filled by one above and not the government.

Yes PA is filled at two levels after the candidate tells something about himself in the first place.

Therefore they as a class take care of each other. It is very rare they will ever spoil the PA of anyone.

Very rare, it is always a favorable report in all cases unlike private sector where they suggest points of improvement.
