According to Hindu religion, there are some restriction to Hindu women to entering into temple. Actually, these kind of religious customs are violating the constitutional rights of women. No temple or the governing body has the right to ban women from entering into temple. Women may or may not want to go to temple, that is her personal right.

For a change why don't we reverse the roles. Women enter everywhere and restrict men from entering where women are restricted today. Let us see how men react to this segregation.

The thread is about Al India Muslim Personal law Board. The issue pertains to How  Indian Muslim women are subjected to injustice.

How does it alter my comment in my earlier post. Women of all religions are subjected to restrictions one way or the other.

All religions are imposing some restrictions upon women. But the restrictions are too much among Muslims ladies. Men are stronger than women. Physically and mentally, women are weak. According to religious view, women should be always under the control of men. It may be the Psychology behind such restrictions.

Very much matters. The thread posted by Gulshan ji contains About the Views expressed by Sheeba Aslam Fehmi one of the Islamic Feminists in India..Let's not mix up.

There is no attempt to mix up. Women of all religions are in need of empowerment. Please get going with your views rather than technicalities.

Any how, I personally don't have any objection. I was talking about the content of the thread and the link given by the thread poster.

Are women in need of empowerment or not is the question which is not finding your comment.

When one speaks about equality it means equality in all spheres including religion and other rights and betterment go hand in hand. One cannot have equality without having the right to go where one wants be it temple or Dargah .

Women are only women , don't divide them in religion. Less or more women are subject to injustice in India.

In giving equal rights to women many social evils in our society will go away and it will become a more equitable country to live in. Women must fight and right thinking men should support them. Politicians for sake of votes will keep society divided.

I used the words- Temple or Durgah.  This means that the thread is about entry of women in religious places irrespective of religion. The link does  not restrict the discussion to only one community.

What I meant was, your link Showcased the Views of a well known Islamic Feminist and the whole thing revolved around  Feminism and empowerment of women in general and Muslim women in particular. So it's all about Empowerment. I believe members should not deviate from the content of the thread. In this case, the subject  revolves around how the Muslim women are being subjected to suppression. Members are expected air their opinions either supporting or holding up the Views Sheema Aslam Fehmi

This is a fact that the vast majority of religions still treat women as inferior human beings. We can see the systematic devaluation of women everywhere in religions. No religion is ready to appoint women in positions of authority. They give least importance to ladies. According to religious point of view, women are expected to be obedient and submissive to men.

Very true, it is not just religion, even our society is male dominated and laws were and are being made to please the male population. It is only now that some relevance is given to the womenfolk although in very small measures . We have a long way to go in our country to get equality like in western countries.

yeah you are absolutely right, this problem is from the beginning of the human begin life and nobody knows when it will come to be an end

The issue of empowerment of women in India is obviously central to our overall progress as a nation which unfortunately has been held hostage by our male-dominated society as well as a section of our women. The bill for reservation of seats in Parliament has been rotting for years! In West Bengal crimes against women are alarmingly high though a woman heads it. When a college girl was brutally raped and murdered by a gang of which triggered off a protest movement led by two intrepid local women she summarily dubbed them as 'maoist'! If a woman that too the highest state functionary was capable of such gross insensitivity to the cause of a woman ,I don't know how many light years we are away from the goal of women empowerment and emancipation!!

It's a Male dominated Society and he suppression of women by the man dates back to centuries. And, despite our tall claims that Women are coming of age and fighting against male domination may be true to some extent. But the quantum  of such cases are almost insignificant. Much has to be done in this direction.

Yes, you are right, women are neglected everywhere in the society. We can see that in some families, women do not have freedom to have their breakfast or dinner with other family members. Time is up to stop such practices from our society.
