In last few months earth quakes occurred many times, and now it become the habit of the people living in this region that earth quake can occur at any time and there is nothing new for them. Pakistan, Afganistan, Hindukush region, Himalay region, Nepal and now in Manipur region earth quakes have more frequent than earlier.
People learn to live even in the most hazardous conditions. When my place was affected by Hudhud 2years ago, we, the people of Vizag did not leave the place, But we learned to live. Even during a heavy rainfall, we recapitulate the lessons earned in such Natural calamities. There is no option.
I don't think its man made disaster. As far as I know Earthquakes happen when two blocks of the earth suddenly slip past one another . The surface where they slip is called Fault or fault plane. The only fault I see is if a region is located in an Earthquake prone region, Earth quakes happen.

To some extent Human being is also responsible for earth quakes. We are extracting oil, mineral and many things from earth which creates vacuum, and space is created in layers of earth resulting in the movement of plates.

A good info. But earthquakes caused due to activities of mining and drilling are very few, especially in India. Most of the earthquakes are due to geographical location of the place which are prone to earthquakes.
The Indian sub continent has a history of devastating Earthquakes. When an Earthquake of 7.2 magnitude struck Tajikistan, the tremors were felt in India and Pakistan.
The major reason for the high frequency and intensity of the earthquakes is the Indian plate is driving in to Asia at a rate of 47 mm per year. Geographical statistics say almost 54% of the land in India is vulnerable to earthquakes.
Now MHA experts are warning for more powerful earth quake of magnitude 8 or above in the near future which can occur in Himalayan region.
Not only Indian experts, University of Colorado too warned about the future earthquakes in Northeast and other Hill states .
Earthquake is a natural disaster and it can happen anywhere at any time. We cannot prevent it anyway. Earthquake is a common incident in the north-eastern boarder of our country. The earthquake that occurred recently at Manipur took the life of ten people and made injury to more than 100 people. It made damage to few buildings, residential units and government offices. Electricity connection was cut off in the state soon after the earthquake.
Again an Earth Quake of intensity 5.5 reported in parts of Pakistan, Afganistan and J & K at 2.37 pm.. This is an alarming situation as in last few months many earth quakes occurred and experts have given an alert for earth quake of intensity more than 8.
