Double stand on pollution

I have seen people talking about the pollution created by crackers on Diwali, there were discussions going on in media channels how pollution has increased on the next day of Diwali. But I have not seen any one talking about the pollution caused by crackers on new years celebration and D.J. was on loud sound whole night. Does only the Diwali crackers spread pollution and the new years crackers purify the air?

Any kind of Noise pollution is hazardous to health.High decibel noise not only damages your hearing, it also causes severe stress, especially in the festive season. Which is why, many of the states banned any kind of celebration after 11 PM

May be it is banned after 11 PM, but as the new year starts after 12, the loud speakers and crackers were fired till late night even after 12. And those people who were talking about the pollution created on Diwali are keeping silent on pollution created on the new year day.

So what,If people are silent on the noise pollution on the New Year day,the truth is noise pollution is caused, not only on New Year, but on any occasion.

Pollution should not be created in the name of celebrating any occasion. Crackers were fired in many countries and lots of pollution was created in the whole world on the occasion of the new year. People should stop polluting environment on any occasion whether it is Diwali or New Year.

It's altogether a different issue. As far as atmospheric pollution is concerned, the entire world is in a critical condition. Humans abused the environment so much, that the world has reached a point of no return. We are bound to face the evils of pollution as we caused it. Chennai deluge is just an example.

There is no such volume of crackers on New year as on Diwali.  Very few people indulge in crackers on new year. But excessive drinking is the main fault with new year celebration.

Excessive drinking will not cause Pollution. But, exploding crackers and blaring Mikes cause severe Noise pollution. This not only shatters the peaceful atmosphere, but also leads to several ailments like loss of hearing.

People spend huge amount of money to buy crackers on Diwali days and burst all the crackers. Diwali is celebrated all over India. Even if this is the festival of Hindu, people of all religion like to celebrate this festival. There is no Diwali without crackers. I am a Christian, but my family spend Rs.2000 every year for crackers.

People also like to celebrate New Year by singing, dancing, playing different games and attending parties. Very few people burst crackers on New Year days. Therefore the sound pollution is also very less compare to Diwali celebration.

When it comes to Noise pollution crackers used for Diwali or New year are the same same. Noise pollution  causes ailments which are hazardous.. Many lost their hearing due to Hugh decibel noise  Which is why on any festive occasion using of crackers is banned  after 11 PM.

It is true that crackers are the cause of air pollution as well as noise pollution. It is also a fact that everyone does not burst crackers as it happens during Diwali. I am not in favour of any kind of pollution but the point is don't we break the rules during some celebration. In North India during marriages crackers are burst but certainly that is quite less than the Diwali crackers. We all want to remain healthy so we want to eat healthy food but, don't we break that rule occasionally? Yes, we do so is the case with New Year celebration and some other. During Diwali we cross every limit which is extremely harmful.

There are very strict instructions for restricting Noise pollution. Even on festive occasions, these restrictions are not relaxed, because of the devastating health problems.

Not only Noise air pollution, water pollution and radition pollution all are hazardous to health. Most of peoples are blaming government for not control pollution. But it is our health why we are not serious to control it.

I agree with you. In curbing environmental pollution, It's the duty of both the Government and the people. Yes, it's OUR health. It's a matter of concern to all of us. Unless both Government and the people work together, it's not possible to control pollution.

Government can only make rules, but in our country breaking rules is a status symbol. No need to look towards government, look after your self.

Perhaps these rule breakers are thinking that rule breaking is an act of heroism. But, one day or other, they have to face the justice. Kanoon Ka Haath bahut lambe Hai. people must do their bit an curbing the atmospheric pollution.

I don't think that people can stop or reduce bursting crackers on Diwali days. There may be some mythological reason behind it. Burning crackers on Diwali is a custom of the society and people all over the country is followed this method. Whenever we burst too much of crackers, it pollute the land by depositing too much of garbage. Cleaning the surroundings are very difficult after diwali celebration.

Nowhere in Mythologies said on Diwali day, one should explode crackers. The word " Diwali" means  row of lights. That's why, it is known as Festival of lights, not Festival of Crackers. Exploding crackers on Diwali day is a Modern day disease.

mainly the uneducated people does all these non-sense things which harms our environment, so its our duty to educated them about the pollution mainly the noise and air pollution

Exploding the crackers is not just restricted to uneducated people. It's not the question of Educated or Uneducated, but lack of awareness about the evils of environmental abuse.

Yes it is right that Deepawali is festival light. Peoples of Auodya light their houses and streets when God Rama return back from forest after 14 years. They did not explode any crackers. No one know how exploding crackers associated with Deepawali. Now situation is changing peoples are quiting using crackers on this festival but speed is much slow.
