Conditions for minorities to live in India !

It appears that we are on verge of Hindu Rashtra. Now the minorities have to leave India and settle in Pakistan if they eat beef. This is proclamation of Haryana C.M. and RSS functionary.  It is forgotten that entire North East is beef eater. Besides, even Hindus in some regions  are believed to be beef eaters.  This way, most residents of these regions will have to be sent to Pakistan.  Will Pakistan not demand land and resources for settling them. Moreover, if other countries where people of Indian origins also are required to go to India, what will be affect on us.  The foreign based Indians may be required not to follow the Indian customs or wear Indian type food or worship Indian leaders- else go to India.

On the verge of becoming a Hindu Rashtra!!! Ha ha! I don't know how many would buy your fictional nightmarish tale but it goes to demonstrate that you are very fast losing faith in our people,in our democratic institutions. I would particularly raise a very strong objection to your blatant distortion of facts by claiming Hindus in Bengal are beef eaters and in the process you have defamed as well as hurt their sentiments and sensibilities. You have not even bothered to qualify the word "Hindu" by some or few! If I were in your position I would tender an unqualified apology. It is an act of defamation.

Haryana CM, Manoharlal Khattar, who has stirred up the controversy over Beef ban, first denied about Muslims should give up  Cow meat claimed that his version was distorted by the press. Then during the course of an interview with Indian express denied and then apologized .The whole thing left me confused. Then with the news that another party that ruled this country for a long time has banned  beef in 1955. All this charges and counter charges confused a common man like me. I would like to request our members to clarify what's right and what is wrong.

It's better to listen to the words carefully before jumping to conclusion. Merely saying yes or no to every opinion brings one's reputation down and not taken seriously. The interest of the erstwhile ruling party says- spread as many rumors and confuse people as much as possible. They see chance of revival in this single action.

I listened carefully. And read all the links related with the issue. That's why this confusion arose. Each and every link I read, which made me more confused than ever. I admit I'm a novice in this political issues. I owe my gratitude to you for  clarifying the issue.

I don't think becoming a Hindu rashtra is such a bad thing...At least rules and regulations would be in black and white and it does not essentially mean that others have no right but we may have more straight forward rules than the highly confusing and manipulative ones that we have now,,However, if the majority wishes for such a step , it may come to that if civil rights are not trampled !

Secularism requires a very mature and tolerant population and high calibre leaders. Today India is seeing increasing intolerance under ordinary leaders and thus secularism has taken a back seat. Almost everyone is now a self styled champion of their community and the level of intolerance is so high that even harmless statements draw tremendous fire. Arguments are reduced to technicalities and apologies are demanded from every utterance. It is sad that for an increasing numbercof Indians Pakistan is becoming the model for future India.

Agreed.  Every one is eligible here to become a leader. And it is due to this reason Secularism has taken a back seat. But, I do not understand in what way Pakistan has become the Model for future India.  We all know that  Pakistan has neither Democracy nor secularism. Hatred against India is the sole  motto of Pakistan.

Pakistan has democracy sans secularism. It is known as the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Many in India want India to become Hindu Republic of India/

All along the discussion, you held the opinion that the very core of democracy is secularism. And this vital aspect has been twisted and mutilated by those intolerant leaders who do not have belief in secularism. Then how come  as per you a country like Pakistan sans secularism can become a Model  for future India ?

You have to read between the lines and perceive the meaning ...

He is saying something which you are either evading or not getting the point. Do not blame him for dragging the discussion if he tells you something in his own disguised style... cheers.

I mean that for many persons today their aim is to see that Hindu religion is declared the religion of India and other religions are made secondary. By doing so they want India to become like Pakistan. Of course I am with the majority who want India to be secular and retain its centuries old  plurality. I am also a proud secular Hindu like million others.

No, that's not the case otherwise we would not be reading this

India and Hindu nation, it is impossible. Leaders of India are habitual and addict of saying any words without thinking. But the nation must be solve this problems. Cow is holy animals for Hindus for thousand of years. All religions have some faiths and believes. So we all should be tried to regard these.

what rubbish is this, if a person eats beef then he/she should have to leave India. What a low mentality, this is India and everyone has the right to eat everything including poison also. Because of some illiterate minister these thing are have been given so much importance.

If you drink poison and die then here is no problem except that your family will be desolate but on the other hand if you survive you will be tried in the court because committing suicide is a crime ..As far as beef ban is concerned it was in existence in many states since 1955 , it is only being brought to lime light now for obvious reasons ..

Ban on cow slaughter is a state subject. So, many states have banned cow slaughter. There is absolute ban in some states and conditional in others. There is nothing wrong in enforcing law on the ban. Nobody objects to this. Nobody objects to the Haryana C.M. strictly enforcing the ban as legislated in the assembly.  There is no needto make issue of this. It toatlly makes no sense to ask the beef eaters to go to Pakistan. Not only the Haryana C.M. but also another leader Naqvi also said so in a T.V. Interview.  Such threats given by the leaders of the saffron group defintely give the impression that Hindu Rashtra is in the making.  As regards beef eating by Hindus, some have admitted they take beef. It is widely believed that in some regions, Hindus also are beef eaters.   Recently Lalu Yadav also hinted . May be some might feel offended. But I don't intend to offend any one. But this is too less when the beef eaters are told to leave India. In case people are asked to go to Pakistan just because they eat beef, what elsecan be said except that Hindu Rashtra is in the making.  However, all are expected to abide by the ban on cow slaughter in the regions where this is enforcedby law.

I give some more links to prove that there is systematic move to create communal tension by the saffron block.

However, the Goa C.M. has given a more sensible opinion even though he velongs to saffron froup. I appreciate his sensible statement.

I have edited my posts so as to avoid reference to particular state in view of sentiment of some members. .

Fimally  the PM has woken up to the damage being caused by fringe elements within BJP and  the Sangh parivar and Amit Shah has taken some of them to task today. It would be interesting to know how these elements now behave.

I know of couple of Jains who relish non veg food. I also know a young Muslim lady Doctor who is the only vegetarian in her family. I know a Bengali who does not like fish. I have a relative who only takes non veg food and no vegetables.

So can we generalise these habits upon the whole community to which they belong and condemn them. Food is a private matter like religion and and that is how it should remain.
