This is indeed shocking. There is lack of scientific education and temperament in the country.  There is need for a strong movement against superstitions. But such movement is like going through fire.  It is well known how some rationalists and anti superstion crusadors have beek killed in Maharashtra and Karnataka.

True. Ignorance and superstitions about Health leads to such gory killings. It seems spreading awareness in the people may help to some extent. I'm sure no legislation can stop this witch hunting. Even if somebody falls sick for  any reason, witch hunters especially in the villages think that it is done by witches.

this is all non-senses, it is not true there might be some human being who is doing all these. This is all about lack of education

Poverty is also behind these types of evils. Education is only and only solution of this problem. It is very hard job to change psyche of peoples but not impossible. It require some time and hard work.

Beliefs and superstitions are so deeply rooted since several generations in people that one cannot bring a change in them overnight. But with perseverance using education and spreading awareness through voluntary organizations  can help.
