The interlinking of the Godavari and the Krishna has been on the anvil for almost five decades.

The benefits of interlinking of rivers are many. Farmers can harvest crops all along the year. Chandrababu Naidu made seemingly impossible task a reality.

Farmers are happy. Food problem is solved forever. More importantly Farmer suicides will not be there.

linking rivers is surely a good idea. But the issue is the large capital required and the time taken. The Narmada Dam is being built from years at a huge cost depriving other irrigation projects in the state. China is 8-9 times richer than India and is a dictatorial country with no opposition and a forcefully regimented population. Such projects in India with Indian penchant for delays and corruption shall be few and far in between.

Risks are imminent considering the fact that river linking is beneficial in more than one ways. If the river linking programme takes inordinate time, cost of the project is bound to swell beyond imagination. Certainly there are certain factors bound to be taken in the early stages of the Project.
