The present look has both aesthetic look and utilitarian and user friendly. A commendable act.

I agree it looks neat although I wonder why choose a picture of Niagara falls when it is an Indian site ???

Are they Niagara falls ? Perhaps  the Administrator thought more about Visual impact.

Maverick probably thought that the Niagara falls would add a universal appeal since the Indians are spread far and wide all over the world. The panorama does lend a freshness to the page although I would not mind seeing a more Indian panorama here.

Let it be any Visual. But the prime importance is visual impact Of course an Indian visual which are abundantly available could have been used. On the whole I'm satisfied with the new look mainly everywhere Blue and green are used which are soothing to the eye.

The new look is old wine in new bottle and looks much better.

The new look is a refreshing change from the earlier one with additional attraction of ease of Navigation.

Same here, we have such an abundance of natural beauty in India and it would be nice to see it being displayed here..

How I wish a paid photo uploading (self taken) section (like articles) was allowed to members of this site. That will help members to watch/understand the beauty of all parts of this beautiful country. 

I had suggested it and you said there are copyright issues. It is worth considering with an undertaking. May be considered. I support your suggestion.

Initially when I joined the site we could upload our personal pictures on to our profile page and I had uploaded several pictures some of which I don't even have now...When the site went for a renovation a couple of years ago this feature was never reinstalled ..

My response was only the reflection of admin's thoughts. I had once suggested it but he thought that feature will be abused and penalized by Google. Let's hope for the best in near future.

Administrator has done all the good features about which we are discussing. Let this trend be continued. Let's leave all the issues related to looks and utilitarian aspects of the site.

 

There are no question of copy right issues when you are uploading personal pictures like it was before...

Even now if one posts photos or paintings with a declaration by the author are well in practice.

Everyone does not post everything their own likewise not everyone posts their own images on each site. I know that as an editor on different sites. Not all members are as honest as you are, we have to delete lots of posts everywhere. So there... But I am hopeful this feature will appear soon.

If some are dishonest Moderators are rejecting such photos. But you are allowing photos from sites which offer photos free from copyright issues. Of course citing the source

Here the matter is not related to out side source but own camera images. An independent paid section of images taken by members. 

 While appreciating the idea of having an independent paid section for the photos ( Paintings)  contributed by the members,  I was talking about our existing practices related to copyright problems .

Sorry but if it is allowed it will be limited to unpublished camera images only.
