The recent ban on porn sites is ridiculous for many reasons. First, even non porn sites have been banned. Obviously the authorities have no time to check. also the ban is not workable.

I think, it is honorable Supreme Court's observation that compels government to implement this. This has been implemented on government owned internet services. Airtell and other services are not adhering to government order, This mean it is not binding on service providers.

In fact ban has no meaning since it can't be implemented. Even China with all the powers in hands failed miserably imposing any such ban on millions of X rated websites which manage to pass through all filters.
Apart from the issue of freedom of expression and citizens' right to see what they like in privacy, enforcing bans and making too much law is needless burden on judiciary and administrative system. Law should interfere only when there is victimization of any citizen. Watching porn or any thing in privacy does not affect any one and so this should not be conern of law.
