Woman is still a 'property' like Mahabharat Times. The Pandava lost their wife in gamble. Recently, some body could not repay loan and so submitted his wife to the lender. What a bizarre way to repay loan. This happens in India only with unique Hindu culture and traditions.

Women have always been referred to as the weaker sex because they are physically weaker than men and that's the reason why they get treated so shabbily by some men who think it is their birth right to do so..This happens all over the world even in the most developed countries since it is a mindset that has been developed over centuries but the difference is that the developed nations have better laws to counter this kind of atrocities against women and women can hope to get better justice when they are at the receiving end from men..
The situation doesn't exist even in India. Many woman right activists are doing perfectly well and in many organizations women are equally or more than men in many Banks and other organizations. The change started. But in a slow tempo. But certainly will take off over a period beyond expectations.
