Acupuncture is a Chinese traditional. It's based on the theory that energy, called chi (say "chee"), flows through and around your body along pathways called meridians.

Acupuncture is a way to unblock or influence chi and help it flow back into balance.

There are many medicine systems. Acupuncture is Chinese tradition just s we have ayurveda.  It appears that the Chinese system is not so popular outside China. I have a curiousity. Is acupressure also linked to acupuncture?

They are two different  things sir. In Acupuncture the nodal points are pinned by fine needles  to regulate the life force. Whereas, in acupressure, pressure is applied with fingers on the nodal points located in different parts of the body.

It is not so popular here, but I have read how many critical diseases especially related with bones are cured, though I have read about it only.

In India, other alternative therapies are popular. Which is why Acupressure did not become famous in India.
