We often Procrastinate our works. Why we procrastinate ? Is it due to fear of failure? Laziness? or some other reasons?

Whatever may be the reason Procrastination should be avoided by all means. The harmful effects of procrastination were realized centuries ago by our seers like Kabir Das, who said, " Kaal Kare So Aaj. Aaj Kare So Ab. Pal Mein Pralay Hoyegi, Pher Karega Kab ?"

Its meaning is the work which is supposed to be handled tomorrow should be done TODAY.

The work which is supposed to be done today should be done NOW

It takes a second to destroy the world.. Then when do you attend the job assigned to you???

In most cases, this is sheer lethargy and lack of strong ambition to excel. Once I read somewhere- A successful man does today what a not so successful man does tomorrow.

Fear of Failure prevents an individual from starting the job at all. Thus they will be adding more and more Unattended works. This adds further burden of unattended works.

Procrastinationators are made not born. Sometimes, people who works perfectly tends to go such way as they feel such job would not be finished perfectly.

What a wonderful saying by Kabir sahib, a great saint and a mystic. If there is no specific aim and have a concrete plan, then procastination comes into picture. Also lack of strong desire results in procastination and ultimately he will not do it also.

This thought provoking idea about Procrastination was envisioned by our great seers centuries ago.

Indeed. There is a book at home named Tales of the Mystic East by Radha soami satsang beas and is a very good book in which all morals and values are hammered home through short 2 pages stories which was given to my father by a person at free of cost. Read it 5 to 6 times and yet it's magic doesn't decrease. It stimulates the spiritual quotient. These seers are the torch bearers and give useful ideas in short messages.

Yes. That's good book worth reading. John Ruskin says such books are known as "Alltime Books."

We usually put off those things which have no deadline, with a feeling that nothing will happen even if it is done tomorrow; but that tomorrow never comes…. Instead, if there is a deadline and severe consequences, then we will not procrastinate. So it is the time factor and the circumstances that make us procrastinate anything; and of course, our mindset is the real villain.

Besides complacency , fear of failure makes some procrastinate. They go on postponing the work. And this postponing goes on and on....

Truly, there should be a deadline for everything and it should not be too much of time, but the exact time as it is a proven fact that we tend to generally keep a longer time than required undermining our abilities.

In GMCS course our sir taught this point by a small exercise in which he asked us to think how many zeroes we can write in one minute and we thought and we started writing zeroes till the last second and when we counted them they were more than what we thought we could pen down.

So a strict and right deadline is also important to achieve anything and grow more faster. Deadlines when not done, we can put a cross and when we go on looking on more crosses we feel wretched and we will start to power ourselves up to do it within the deadlines slowly.

Of course deadlines make a difference. These deadlines should be self imposed. You have to impose a deadline on your self and strictly adhered to.

This is because we are too lazy sometimes. If you ask about me I just wait for the dead lines. I am trying to change myself but it's hard to change habits.

Even with deadlines many people due to fear of failure will never attempt even to start the job. This  fear of failure mall make all the difference between an achiever and a non-achiever.

I am a good starter as I start things well but don't complete them before time just wait for the dead line.  :-)

What's the reason? You start but you cannot complete.  How it helps you to have a dead line? Who will impose the deadline?

Most of the time I leave work in the middle as I get bored of the things. I remember in school or college I used to start doing assignments/project works earlier than anyone but used to complete at last just thinking it's time to submit and sometimes it has happened that I have submitted my work at very last minute.

Did you ever think of the reason for boredom ? Let me tell you. They say work will not tire you. but the boredom tires you.

Boredom tires you because of Monotony.

 Change the activities often.

Even I while go for morning walks i will not walk through every time in the same way. I often change my route. This enables you to find out new things you never about.

Now apply these simple facts to your life. Change the mode of your activity. Boredom never dares to come anywhere your vicinity

Second thing I observed from the data you provided is You are not clear about your aims and objectives.

The above are the reasons for your Procrastination.

Having a team also helps a great deal in completing it within deadline and it reduces boredom to a large extent.

Absolutely. In a team you will be forced to follow the other members. This in turn leads to eradication of "Boredom."

Why do we practice such instruments which are not fun and that leads to lack of interest where other person seems to rejoice bit for its own procrastinations. This does not imply a sense to it.
