Harbhajan Singh, Ashish Nehra, Zaheer Khan who seem to have completely lost their place in the playing eleven are hitting their old form and making their ominous form felt in the Ipl for a comeback in the side. Such a surprise and great feeling that even at this age they are competing to come back with such intent. Indeed age is just a number... Isn't it friends..

It is the consistency for more than two years that provide youngsters opportunities to enter into higher classes, otherwise, they would be feeling in their new assisgnments, in this year, Shreya Aiyaar played really well but that does not guarantee space for him as he had to perform in another year too, Manish Pandey is outstanding and should be selected.

A single instance of sparkling performance will not guarantee a place in a team. It's the consistency that matters.

Manish Pandey deserve Indian cricket team ticket based on his consistent performance, and there are some other talents hope they would be finding opening soon.

Basing on worth many young cricketers were given a chance in IPL. merit alone matters

Shreyas Aiyar is brilliant and he has exceptional Ranji season and he should be selected among fifteen in order to showcase what talent matters.

The thread is about old warriors . Shreyas belongs to new Gen

I am wrong just got bit override, I do not think older war horses rise above the ranks, such as Yuvi, Gambhir, Shewag, all failed miserably, even Dinesh karthik failed to mark.

All players experience UPs and DOWNs in their career. No one can be in the form all their life time.

Gambir himself admits his international career is almost at the last leg as he said good performance in both Ranji and IPL would guarantee a place for players.

So is the case with all other past heroes. Their days are over

I think, most of past heroes are now playing for their long retired life as for players retirement early in mostly forties, and they are trying hard to make their future good, and with Ganguly is now team director, selection of team would be more stress to youngsters.

Past cricket Heroes are being encouraged and recruited by the respective Team owners thinking that they are in the same old form. But they disappointed. IT is a wrong decision of the respective Team owners.

Yup. Yuvraj has disappointed. It is the current form on the basis of which they have to be appointed. However players like Zaheer Khan, Harbhajan Singh are proving their mettle. Giving a long rope has been justification for them.

And on Yuvraj , the Team owners spent astronomical amount.

Yup :-). But the team management has backed yuvraj by saying that he did not ask for such huge amount and it was market that decided it.

That The team  management's decision is wrong has been proved if looked back. The fact remains that all old cricket heroes cannot remain as Heroes forever.

Zaheer has a good comeback and even Nehra throws some light of his past greatness, Harbhajan is good but barring one or two instance his batting not clicked, though bowled well. I think it is the end of roads of most of past greats. Mothing to talk about Yuvi and Shewag.

The thread poster has generalized the issue. If there are some exceptions, they are welcome

To day is tram selection for Bangladesh tour and Ganguly would be team director and his first assignment and hope for selection of performers and perhaps performance of IPL should be taken into consideration.
