A good information Praneeth. What is the cost before the lives of millions? We need such devices so that loss of lives and material can be minimized or reduced.

Awareness is important but while dealing with sudden natural happenings like earth quake and tsunami is always difficult to manage but still with each and every incident we could read many more, such as perhaps any android apps that could report incidents to users so that they could be alerted within shortest span of time.

Wisdom lies in utilizing technological tools in order to minimize the damage of men and material.

Construction of houses and the amount of wisdom Japanese people utilized in creating earthquake proof houses need to be learnt and properly utilized.

In this regard Japan has shown the world by building houses that can cause minimum loss of men and materials in the event of earth quakes and tsunamis . They are worh emulating.

India's effort in recent disaster management by NDRF team also well acclaimed world over and within three hours India's team reached earthquake zone to help friendly nations.

Just reading the news .... Another 7.4 earthquake in Nepal. Waiting for more details on it.

I think it is 7.1 if am true, and almost at the same time that of earlier, real hardship times for people of Nepal.

It's a big earthquake in intensity. Gradually reports of death and building collapses are pouring in.

Don't know.. In news it is still showing 7.4.

Yes it was on almost same time, and as per prediction we can still more quakes is soon time..

A series of quakes took place with different intensities ranging from 7.1 to 7. 8 on the Richter scale. Earthquakes rocked Afhhanistan and China also but with less intensity.

Yes.. Outside Nepal its intensity has decreased. I saw in the news that in Delhi its scale was around 5. But still many felt it.

As I said, the intensity of the quakes varied frm region to region.

The intensity of quake is highest around its epicenter, and slowly all sorts of place the intensity of quake decrease around its spreading areas.

Intensity of a quake reduces as it goes away from the epicenter.

Earthquake is intense violations of seismic conditions, inside crust of earth, which becomes kinetic energy at the surface. Tectonic plates are always moving inside crust of earth but they sometimes struck due to friction of its edges which causes earthquake.

Friction between tectonic plates is the reason behind the earth quakes. This part is known. But how to act and what precautions are to be taken when an earth quake strikes is the vital part of the thread about which the link article dealt in detail in a layman's language in the link article .
