That's really terrible. It is really hard to trust any of shopping centre for changing during trying clothes. They should be punished hard.

It is a warning signal to all of us to be cautious before entering the changing room of a shop. Security norms of any establishment should not be misutilized to exploit the privacy of a customer.

Already some employees of Fabindia were taken into custody for interrogation. Further details are awaited.

Taken into custody and then released on bail. It's not the first time a camera has been found in trial rooms, bathrooms of girls' hostel, hotels and other public places but I have never heard anyone punished so far.

That's why such things keep repeating. We need some solid action otherwise no meaning of custody and all that.

It's a known fact that such things happened in the past and it's also known fact that none were punished. But This happened with none other than Union minister. Let'swait and see the outcome.

This kinds of incidents are repeated. When VIP's are reporting about it the action will be taken immediately. Shops are using camera to watch the people activity but there should be a limitation and where the camera should not kept are known by the management.

Interestingly there are many theories going round about the whole incident...But the important thing is that this incident will be a warning for all others who might have  similar arrangements going on in their establishments .

I don't think the incident will serve as a warning signal to others. Because such things happened in the past and they are unabated still. We are not the people to understand smooth and soothing signals. Going the hardest possible way is the only way to stop such incidents.

Lot of modern spy cameras available(Ex:Pen camera). Some cameras are identifiable by people and some are not. Modern world finding so many new findings and all these things are not known by others. An app or something to find the hidden camera is the only solution.

The version of the establishment is that they have camera just for security. Now there is no privacy anywhere. you are watched wherever you go. The ATMs, shops everywhere there are cameras. But here the only issue is that these are in changing rooms  So while changing, a customer should be careful enough to change without exposing more. Just as we change clothes while in open space before bathing in river, we should do in changing rooms as well.

Saying cams were placed in the changing room for security sounds vague. No one buys it.

Now you may criticize the establishment for camera. But if some terrorists had entered the changing room with some mischievous intention, there would be criticism for not placing camera there. People just get emotional and criticize anything without considering all relevant situations.

Sir, terrorists never go to a changing room for the obvious reasons getting caught by the cam clearly. Fixing cams outside especially at the entrance is advisable and it was mandatory .

Terrorists will never ask us about their strategy. Not only terrorism but for other crimes also like petty theft, the cameras are installed.  If some crime occurs, people say why camera was not installed. If one is installed, they say why this is installed as privacy is affected.  Privacy and security are two objects contradicting each other and you need draw a balance. If you need full security, you will have no privacy. If you need full privacy, security is gone.

Does it mean, security robs away our privacy? Then one has to fix secret cams even in our own bedrooms.

Yes. This is   a fact.  If you install secret camera in your bed room, any thief or criminal entering there for robbing, stealing or raping will be apprehended. But nobody will do so for sake of privacy. either you may have security or privacy. That is why we make some compromise. we have neither full security nor full privacy. full privacy means no security. Full security means no privacy. You can't have both in full.

There are other ways to have security without sacrificing privacy. Have you ever seen any celebritrobe it a politician or otherwise fixing cams in their bedrooms? Instead they arrange security guards or private detectives for security.

It is basic decency that you have no cameras in changing rooms and one can argue for and against it endlessly, but the fact remains that nowhere do they have cameras in changing rooms and toilets...
