Sleeping is highly important, without getting proper sleep people can get all sorts of ailments. A good night sleep is also essential for the body to restore and revive. I have seen and experienced that lack of sleep can also lead to blurred vision, headache and tiredness. A beauty sleep is a must.
But I have seen many people who sleep for only 4-6hrs and still function well without any problem. Wonder how they do it.
And those are the ones who fall prey to death due to a sudden massive heart attack or brain stroke. Research has proved that irrespective of what you feel, it is healthy for you to sleep for a minimum of eight hours each day.

Yes, I too believe that our body needs a min of 8 hrs of sleep to revive and renew the cells and regain lost energy.
I have never had the luxury of having 8 hours of sleep any time in life after my student days...If I get to sleep 7 hours at a stretch I consider myself lucky. There is always something or the other happening that disturbs my sleep. Touch wood, so far I have been healthy and active...But all said and done, sleep is very essential to us and when we get the opportunity we shd rest and catch up on lost sleep, even if it is only for a few mins, it does wonders ..

That is a good habit you have sir. Getting 8 hours of sleep without any effort and going to bed early and getting up early shows that your natural body clock is well programmed.

I too feel that a short nap , even if it is only for a few minutes when you are really tired and exhausted does wonders ....You feel ready to tackle the rest of the day with renewed energy !

True Usha. Mostly in the afternoons, I need to take just 10-15 minutes shut eye which is enough for me and I get charged for the rest of the day!Mousumi Ghosh wrote:
