Meet the new Santa Claus in Delhi

Indeed Kejri is a Santa Claus. It is a Toofan of goodies.

Nothing new or anything that would ensure sustainable and long term development but he is doing only those things that will ensure his vote bank! How long will this keep him in power???

He has been propagating and now putting into practice a populism of the most reckless brand for which common taxpayers are likely to be in for a nightmarish time. What is true of an individual in striking a balance between income and outgo, is all the more in the case of a state or a nation. Let us see how this drama unfolds.

I agree, how long will he continue to dole out goodies ? To start it right from the beginning will backfire on him if he needs to cut down on it at a later date. Ideally he should have not announced any freebies until after the budget and knows the state of economic health of Delhi..

@Usha There are no such things as free lunches in economics. Special treatment of a special category should be more of an exception than the rule and too within the parameters of affordability and economic logic.

Freebies, subsidies and rebates are the populist measures. Kejriwal though with a good intention has committed a blunder in announcing the sops without considering the feasibility aspect.

Quite true Usha and Chinmoy! But it has been a trend for some time now for the politicians to focus only on one particular group of people and dole out freebies and stuff so that those people will cast their vote only to them. Isn't this dangerous for our country? Amassing votes from a particular group and then having your own way once in power and neglecting the middle class group which is of substantial size and proportion in the total population of India, I must also point out that it is the middle class group which really runs the mechanism of the country and neglecting them is not good. They are not even asking for freebies or subsidies, all they want is ensured progress, not the fake one, the real one!

No one seems to have noted his assurance to business community that no one will come and check their books or take samples. Now Delhi is on the way to become world class city maybe sooner than expected.

Assurance. Good. Why hurry, let's wait until the implementation of the assurance.Congress assured 'Special Status' to AP BEFORE THE BIFURCATION OF THE STATE. It's yet to be implemented.

This assurance will be carried out though. See the result that Delhi citizens will pay when the businessmen will adapt to mall practices. 

True. There is every possibility for business communityresorting to Unfair trade practices. Even with  the existence  of stringent laws, the unfair practices in business could not be contained. Without them, I cannot even imagine the trials and tribulations of a common man.
