Exactly, without proper subject line can misplace the email and can make the recipients delay the reply. Hence, subject is the most important element of an email.

Subjects are manipulated to force one to read mails which one would not read otherwise if subject was written rightly.

Manipulated or not, mails having subject is what's required.
