Depending on age, one has think twice before continuing non vegetarian. Though I was a hard core non vegetarian , I have switched over to vegan ism  long ago keeping in mind  and weighing pros and cons of non vegetarianism. Now I'm a vegetarian, eat more fish, less chicken and no meat. Leading a happy and healthy life.

Although even vegetables are not safe courtesy pesticides and dirty water used at different sources but yes I am a vegetarian for last 11 years.

Vegetarianism keeps you healthy and fit. I have a small kitchen garden. So cleanliness part has been taken care of that way.

Very true..vegetables are also not 100% safe..but  people like us who have been fed non-veg from an early age, it becomes extremely difficult to say no to non-veg. :( The least we can do is to eat more fish and say no to processed chicken and red meat.

Kitchen garden will solve the Clealiness part of vegetables. Even though I live in a flat, I grow Potable vegetables. Fish is the safe bet which contain omega fatty acids ,which are good for health. Being a non vegetarian, I switched to vegetarianism gradually.

Non-vegetarian food, including fish, is very bad for health.  The dangers associated with infection of all kinds, are very real, and are very clearly documented.

Switching to vegetarianism is the best option.  If we can grow more kitchen gardens with organic manure and completely do away with urea, we will be very healthy.  In many places, we can get red soil.  If we mix that with ordinary soil, the growth of vegetables is very good.  For example, tomato.  If we can produce more on our terraces, the prices in the open market will come down automatically when demand comes down and the supply is the same.  Since the retail guy has to necessarily go for volumes, and this will bring down prices very quickly.

Though not a big but a small kitchen garden, I have. Fish is good because they contain antioxidants in them, which are good for health.

vegetarian and non veg food both have their positive or negative points. Nobody takes entirely non veg food. We all take enerally vegetarian food whereas non veg is occasional.

It depends on the age. As you grow old your digestive system weakens. Hence non vegetarian food takes more time for digestion for the aged. Hence, vegetables which take less time for digestion are preferable. For youngsters, it's not applicable. They can take any amount of non vegetarian food.

Every thing which is more is not good for health whether it is Vegetarian or Non-Vegetarian.

This is not true in the case of Vegetarianism.

Some people readily eat non-veg and prefer to eat non-veg although the benefits of veg food is known to all. I think a mix of both should be eaten to keep a balance.

Being vegetarian is always good for health. There is a cure for almost everything in vegetarian items for people who are suffered by eating non-vegetarian foods. You can also use half boil rice for get some strength comparing with full boil rice.

Age factor has to be taken into consideration. As we grow old, the digestive system and the digestive process deteriorates. Veggies, fruits and pulses are easily digestible . Hence vegetarianism suits them. Youngsters c an take veg and non veg liberally.

Large scale toxic fertilizer can harm to vegetarians and for this it is always remove skins of vegetables completely before food preparation.

Yes, that's a good way of getting rid of toxic fertilizers in the vegetables.

Quite true.  However, please do note that there is now an increasing amount of evidence that vegetarian food, particularly organically grown vegetables, produce the best anti-oxidants, and help any human being to fight against disease, particularly since we live in an age where we have a huge amount of infection in whatever we eat, whether at home, or outside in some hotel.

.very. true. Now Veganism is the order of the day for keeping one hale and healthy.

I think we need to go more towards vegetarianism, as that will really increase the resistance power to several diseases that will automatically happen, if we do not take care.  Taking non-vegetarian food may be okay, within all limits.  The chances of infection are really very real, and one should not loose sight of this fact, that has been repeatedly pointed out in the press.

As a born Non- Vegetarian and turned to  Vegetarianism I had seen both advantages and disadvantages of Vegetarianism since thirteen years. Now, I'm more healthy and vibrant than ever before.
