The latest Maoist/ Naxalite offensive in Chhhatisgarh goes to show that they are not yet defeated. They are very much alive. Nobody knows how long this trend will continue. There is no alternative to counter them not only with police force but also politically through meaningful and sincere talk. Yes. The government is trying to crush Naxalism without knowing the root cause of the problem. No body willingly and intentionally become a Naxalite. Extreme poverty and callousness of the respective governments to provide livelihood to the youth, driven them to resort to extremism. You will be astonished to see that there are many educated among the Naxalites. The government is trying to solve the problem on the surface. But it needs to look deeper and eradicate the root cause of the problem.
