Is there a limit to blind faith and devotion. Apparently there is no limit. Just see the following link. Can you imagine that a Baba bathes in milk which is used to prepare 'Prasad' for the followers.

This is utterly disgusting! I don't remember the name, but until recently there was another similar baba or maharaj in North India who used to chew paan constantly and when he spit it out, it was gathered in containers and was distributed as prasad!! Yuccckkkkkk!

It is truly disgusting ...it is the same with Godmen or with some political leaders as well. The case of people committing suicide because Jayalalitha was imprisoned goes to show how stupid people are when it comes to fan following and blind adoration...

There are thousands enjoying this privilege live or dead. Look at the list of Sai babas, and likes and imagine the devotion people show for such people wasting their money and self respect. If one knows a few tricks of jugglery it's not hard to become god overnight.

It is not devotion; it is ignorance. Utter ignorance of the common people is intelligently exploited by the crook demigods with all sorts of gimmicks and hooliganism; that too in the name God.

Ramakrishnan ji- If only common people were lured by these'saints', it was understandable. But the fact is that even highly educated people and infuential politicians visit such crooks. In Madhya Pradesh, ex Chief minister used to aattend the sermons of Sant Asha Ram, an accused of rape and molestation. The current foreign minister also is said to have visited another crook- Baba Ram Rahim of Haryana. The politicians are lured by vote bank represented by the blind devotees of these babas.

Yuck, is the word when I think of it, why are people fooled by such babas, because they want to be fooled.

I agree that politicians encourage these godmen hoping to get some votes...Right from Indira Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi , Advani and now to the present day politicians , they have all gone out of their way to get close to religious leaders belonging to different religious groups with an eye on vote banks, thats how religion has become a big business in our country because of our selfish politicians..

@GKA: True Sir. No one is spared here. Only difference is that the politicians and VIPs do it consciously, as a business, with some specific motives. They cast net and catch sufficient ‘fish’.

Some people are knowingly falling behind the saints. We cannot advise those people. A blind worship is never worth full one. Most of the people who fall behind the saints due to get a solution from their karma. If people try to understand himself by thinking calmly in lonely place inside our house then there is no necessity to fall behind the saints. People are not ready to hear the words of elders. If the saint told the same message they are eagerly hearing it and when returned to home they are making the same mistake. Like that saints are also acting in front of the public and after their departure they are showing the real face to the world.

Only education will have power to eradicate such blind faiths at utmost capacity, Every religion is full of such elements, I like the way government of province forward and stop this so called saint performing more insanity in name of religion.

In our country, everything is used by different people to fool few others in the name of religion, caste, language and so on. Where religion is supposed to bring people together, such self-proclaimed saints use religion to fool common people. It is with education and awareness about such self-proclaimed saints that people will come to know the truth that it is business and not done for the welfare of commoners.

True Mousumi, education can indeed help open our eyes to the fraud and deceit of such fake sahuds, but it is seen that the amongst the disciples of such godmen, huge number are educated people, even professionals such as doctors and engineers constitute a significant percentage of those devotees. So is conventional education or noneducation the reason for such phenomenon? I hardly think so! The problem is, in our country, conventional education is given out properly but the education which is more crucial to personal growth and to develop ourselves as responsible, rational people who can think on their own is simply not given. Not in schools, not in homes. The sankaras that we talk about so often, the hallmark of our 'great culture' etc. is now limited only to certain rites and rituals and celebration of festivals in a big commercial way. But those sanskaras no longer teach us humility, tolerance, and true faith.

Education , meaning just a degree helps very little in enlightening the mind , which is evident in the fact that most notorious terrorists like osama bin laden and a few others were all well educated . What is needed is an attitude change which comes from both within home and an all round education provided by schools.
